If this continues there is no question that Hellebuyck will have to give back his Vezina Trophy. There is no way he can keep it if the Jets go out like this with him being a sieve in goal with a .715 save %!

Looks like Hellebuyck is succumbing to pressure once again. Two quick goals against him early in game 7. While i’m hoping Winnipeg wins in order to have another Canadian team in the playoffs i refused to bet on this game because my gut- feeling is that Monty’s team will advance in the playoffs. There is also a personal rule i have: always put your money on the team with the best Canadian goaltender over the team with the American goalie. Rarely has this personal rule ever failed me!

Note: After this series maybe the Jets will be more than happy to trade Hellebuyck to Detroit if he wants & if they agree to take his big contract off their hands. If one of the league’s highest paid goalies can’t win in the playoffs then what good is he?

What a come back from Winnipeg! Losing Morrissey after 2 minutes on the ice, then a very shaky start from Hellebuyck, and no Sheifele, I was not confident, to say the least.

But then some 23 y.o. decided to take matters in his own hands! If nobody knew who he is, Perfetti just made a name for himself now, he inspired all his team!

Since I love numbers, here’s some interesting ones:

Jets delivered 73 hits, Blues 49
Jets outshoot Blues 47-29, they dominated from the start of the 3rd.
Neil Pionk(never draughted) spent a total of 46:15 minutes on the ice, his buddy Samberg 44:00!

I am happy Winnipeg moving on to the 2nd round but, in all honesty, the Blues deserved a better fate. I especially feel for Binnington, he played a great series.

On the other hand, Hellebuyck had a .830 save % and 3.85 GAA for the 7 game series while playing in all 7 game including the 3 in St. Louis in which he was pulled from goal. These are well below NHL backup numbers.

In the next round, Winnipeg v. Dallas will feature a matchup between the 2 best US goalies: Hellebuyck and Oettinger. Jake is out to prove that he, not Hellebuyck, should be the starter in the Team USA nets going forward. He is tired of backing up Hellebuyck at the international comps. Has his time come?

YEP....WOW WOW WOW...they did it without MORRISSEY----leur meilleur défenseur and without SCHEIFELE....leurs défenseurs ont joué plus de 40 min.....big credit to them.....and ....well....let's say HELLEBUYCK in OT a sauvé sa série...lol.

Mais dans quel état vont-ils se présenter devant les STARS?????.....qui eux en plus vont récupérer ROBERTSON et HEISKANEN.......avantage DALLAS.

Very interesting match-up indeed! Both of them have similar numbers in regular season, although Hellebuyck, playing in the NHL longer than Oettinger, faced much more shots through his career.

They played almost the same amount of playoffs games (54 and 52), there again, numbers are close to each other, exception being this year, with a clear advantage from Oettinger.

One thing is for sure, Team USA has probably the best pair of goalies you can dream of!

This is why Jake is sick and tired of backing up Connor for Team USA. He feels he is just as good. Also he was the starting goalie for Team USA at the World Juniors in his age group (over Joseph Woll and Jeremy Swayman) and he feels like he has paid his dues for Team USA.

Yep.....2 goals in the last 2 min...just incredible comeback.....momentum is on their side....enjoy....lol

Good for Canadian hockey teams, of the last 8 teams in series , 3 are from Canada. Canada has 8 /32 teams. Not bad, perhaps that's why Trump want Canada to be 51h USA state !
