If they put that 100K for statehood to a vote don't be surprised if it's accepted.
Wouldn't statehood mean that Greenland would get 2 senators? Since the majority of people in any democracy in the world are to the left of the Republicans, wouldn't that make it more difficult for Republicans to control the Senate? Doesn't the House or Senate have any power to kibosh such an offer?

Amazing how the white people of Greenland are offered statehood so quickly! What about the brown people of Porto Rico, the majority of whom demand independence or statehood? What of the majority dark people of D.C. who have no senate representation and limited House representation?

The so called Democrats of Greenland are center-right and I would not assume any senators would be Democrats in the American system. More likely one Republican and one Democrat which doesn't move the needle.

So America has money to buy the territory, pay off people and offer them a dog shit health care system.

But cant take care of their own people?

lolololololololol
2nd time you're saying US healthcare sucks. Are you comparing with Canada or countries that actually provide good service?

You can't compare. Name me a country that based their healtcare system on the US one?

I'll give you a hint. There is none. Because all other developed countries based their healthcare as a right. So it's subsidized.

That's why I asked if he is comparing to Canada. His implication was Canada and I wanted to point out that our system is broken and beyond a pile of crap.

US healthcare is excellent. The accessibility for common people indeed sucks.
I think my healthcare is excellent and probably better than most places in the USA because of where I live. I agree that it sucks for people who are stuck with Obamacare and self insuring and can't get on a group plan. I have been on a group plan at every firm I have worked at and none have made me pay anything towards my premium cost which, admittedly, is a generous deal. I believe my premium cost is in the neighborhood of $1200 a month. So if I had to pay that it would suck big time.

But my doctors are excellent. I have specialists for some unique health issues as well as a cardiologist who is constantly on my ass to keep my blood pressure down. As he should be.

If US Healthcare was so terrible people wouldn't be running here from other countries in droves for treatment of everything from serious burns to cancer.

1200 sounds great to be honest. Even if I need to drop 2500 USD every month for family health insurance, I am better off in the FL with a tax rate of under 20%. I save a lot even with the exchange rate. Fuel is also 30% less per liter and I don't need to worry about winter tires, snow clearing, expensive heating bills, or losing my guns to nonsensical legislation.

Who wouldn't want to take over Greenland?

I get it from this point of view. This way of looking at the map puts Greenland in a much more prominent, strategic spot. A lot of times people ask for something crazy so negotiations can start at that spot and end where they actually want to be.
