Personaly, I don’t go to Italian restaurant to eat pasta, its way too easy and quick to make amazing pasta at home! I don’t see the point of paying that much on something so cheap.
You make your own fresh pasta? Or dry ones? I understand if we're talking about dry pasta.

I eat pasta at restaurants where they make fresh pasta and delicious, decadent sauces that I will probably never make at home.

I'm debating long and hard between Shay and Damas next time I go to Mtl.
Shay's Per Person price for tasting everything is only half of Damas (85 vs 160). Is the vibe at Damas more upscale or is the food that much better?
Imho the food isnt better and i prefer the ambiance at Shay. But that is me.

I discovered Shay last year and I found the experience way more valuable and satisfying than Damas.
I have been to shay as well! For their brunch. The baklava pancake is incredible

I tried Soup Zen. A restaurant where you pick your ingredient, they cook for you and you pay based on your selection's weight.

It includes a drink and a taro soft serve!

Fun fact: for some reasons, mostly if not only women were eating. I felt a bit weird lol

Quick noodle/pasta worshipping:

Chez Nouilles (Atwater), this was their tomato and beef noodle

Bistro Amerigo (NDG), they have freshly made pasta, al dente, it's already enough :)

The homemade roast chicken to chicken stock to chicken soup pipeline
Let me add a step in your pipeline: for the white meat of the chicken, you can pan fried them with a little caramelized onions and it's *chef kiss*.

When I was a kid I used to put it in a sandwich (baguette) with mayonnaise (I love mayo ...) and it's just divine haha

Otherwise you can serve it with whatever side you like!
