With China's new visa free rule I'm thinking about it

China is more problematic than going to either Thailand or the Philippines, even without a visa requirement. A couple of weeks there at two girls per day and a massage(+ if you like) in between bouts and it will cure you of your fever for a while, give you some great memories, and won't break the bank. There is that flight to deal with, mind you, but pick a red-eye and sleep through if you can sleep on planes and even that isn't that big a deal. If you want to do China for a couple of days anyway go to AC and you can hop easy and quick flights out of Clark to Macao for pocket change.

Infrastructure in China has developed in a flash.
You can now take a cheap and fast train transit from Hong Kong to China.

Even HKese prefer to spend their money "up North" as it cheaper, convenient transportation and high level of service.

Infrastructure has nothing to do with it. Thailand and PI are simply easier to hobby in with less barriers to entry for NA mongers.
