It goes with the territory!
(This is the game we have chosen to play!)
You buy your ticket ... you take your chances!
Outdated photos are all part of the game!
Unless it was a blatant bait & switch ... you gotta take the loss and pay her!
The best you can do is write a review so it doesn't happen to somebody else.
Best of luck in the future.

Are clients allowed to review providers they haven't received a service from? And I'm not talking about scammers or a boyfriend waiting to beat you up type of situation..

Shills aside and excluding a jealous boyfriend... I certainly hope not!
How could a client provide a credible review of a provider ...
if he's never seen her?
That's like saying ... a dinner reviewed a restaurant on Yelp ... but he's never eaten there!

hopefully you see where the problem is and how it should not be on the client to reward the agency by paying for the session they wont partake in....
Why should the provider be punished for this? Maybe don't reward the agency and pay the girl, tell them you're refusing to pay because she's not well represented.

But you're saying to write a review if she shows up and you turn her away because she looks different from her photos

No matter what agency of indy you should pay for the session. She blocked some of her time for you. I try to change my photos often.. still, there's always going to be someone who thinks the provider doesn't look exactly like their photos, even if they're super realistic. Really often photos are edited and posed in a certain way, some people's weight fluctuate a lot. I look very different depending on the time of the month because I have a small frame. It's not the provider's fault if she looks slightly different from her photos that specific day, or if the agency chose to post those photos of her.

In a situation like this I recommend paying for the session and leaving or asking the provider to leave and inventing an excuse. That never happened to me except once.. one of my very first clients as an indy acted disgusted when he saw me in person, just because I didn't have time to put on makeup. He should have just left and given me money, but he decided to act really rude, try to coerce me into bbfs and when I said no made me suck his dick for a whole hour and then posted a bad review. (which was deleted since).. it was really traumatic
It did happen me to a few time the agency pics were outdated. Now I understand after sweet sweet Luna explained the girls were not in controlled or how they are advertised.

My darling Luna you look fantastic everytime I see you.

Haha thanks for the compliment! Just making sure I remind ppl that I've never worked for an agency, that's not exactly what I said :)
I was talking about professional photoshoots in general

I have seen girls who worked for agencies who really looked like their photos .. but all professional shoots are edited and some photographers alter way more than others. I used to assist a fashion photographer for a few years so I know how it's done..

I also know how people perceive these edited photos compared to the real person. I had a colleague who was called fat compared to her photos but these were recent pictures and were not that edited... It's just that angles etc were flattering.

In my opinion this subject is tricky because it's subjective tbh. I've been accused of posting extremely dated photos when I started in the industry but they were new and not even edited or filtered, I just looked tired that day
