All other things being equal, I would rather live in a country where there are fewer incentives to become a sex worker at a young age...In Canada, there are fewer incentives to join the industry at a younger age

That's what I understood, then.I was implying that if 20 new SW from different parts of the world came to Montreal and worked for $150 an hour, then they’ll have a waitlist of men. Other SW would have to lower their rate to compete, or leave Montreal and go somewhere if that is the market in Montreal.
Chinese EV CARSI was implying that if 20 new SW from different parts of the world came to Montreal and worked for $150 an hour, then they’ll have a waitlist of men. Other SW would have to lower their rate to compete, or leave Montreal and go somewhere if that is the market in Montreal.
Kind similar to Chinese able to come to Canada without tariff at much cheaper price than other cars.. sorry I don’t mean to get into some politics.
You can't compare dumping to the sex work industry in Canada. You can't dump people, or it's called trafficking. And trafficking never killed the prostutition market.Chinese EV CARS

We were charging a tariff of 100% to China on EVs to avoid "dumping", meaning "a scenario where a country or company exports a product at a price significantly lower than what it charges in its home market, or even below the cost of production. The strategic goal is usually to flood a foreign market, undercut local competitors, and drive them out of business."?? I’m also confused. Maybe I don’t know politics all that well. All I was implying that now there is zero or significantly reduced tariffs for Chinese EV cars in Canada, more people will buy EV cars? I don’t understand what you mean by dumping
Is that not what the government is doing with TFWs?? Tim Hortons whining about not able to find workers when the youth unemployment is double the national average. Seems people are okay with recruiting ppl from poor countries to suppress wages while at the same time they are competing with Canadians for apartments and make rents go way up.I love how the solution to this is to recruit people from poorer countries. I bet you want them to barely speak French or English so that they don’t realize that they’re being taken advantage of, right?
Charging a tariff = taxes. It does a disservice to Canadians when you do that. They are pushing for EVs yet tariffs keeps Canadians from being able to have affordable quality EVs. Seems ppl are okay to charge tariffs to keep manufacturing in their own country but not when it brings in quality products at a good price from foreign countries. More competition is good for the population, it forces everyone to make better products at a competitive price. This is like Capitalism for customers and Socialism for businesses. Interesting take.We were charging a tariff of 100% to China on EVs to avoid "dumping", meaning "a scenario where a country or company exports a product at a price significantly lower than what it charges in its home market, or even below the cost of production. That's exactly what you said about bringing girls who would charge a lower rates than others to bring the market down. You can't expect girls to keep those rates unless they are coerced, we're not machines that can be sold at any price. And when you can, it's called human trafficking.
It's a general feeling that "things are not what they used to be". Granted that humans have expressed this thought since basically forever, there do seem to be some tangible underlying factors that explain our perceived changes in the industry. The causes are diffuse and hard to pinpoint with certainty. At the risk of repeating myself, I still think that the general public underestimates how the pandemic transformed our societies and affected each of us on an individual level.I can't tell what anybody's talking about here anymore. Is it about the Montreal scene? Is it about the Europe scene? Is it about rate hikes or alternatively how much girls make ? is it the absence of girls? The absence of young girls? The reasons why people don't get into the business anymore? I wish you guys would make up your mind!
Just as an aside as far as here vs there costs Montreal has always been more expensive than going abroad, even when it was cheaper. Nothing has changed in that respect.
I agree. Covid changed things forever. Society on a whole is meaner and greedier. It's a general feeling that "things are not what they used to be". I guess other comparison for SW for this scenario would be if the government says all cash transaction for SW may be claimed but not taxes,.. it will change how the pricing goes? You can't compare dumping to the sex work industry in Canada. Canada had a stripper visa program in 1998 and it was scrapped in 2004. The stripclubs said they did not have enough strippers so women from foreign countries could apply for a visa as exotic dancers. This was the golden age of stripclubs. I remember seeing so many strippers mostly from Romania and Hungary.I think we are talking about it quite differently in perspective terms. And I’m sorry if I’m not communicating correctly. There is no company or person who is going to poor countries to recruit girls to come to Canada…. People will come to Canada at their free will..
Nopes. Their wages are being partially subsidized by the government and the workers are often coerced to do some extra work for free and other work not part of their job with the threat to loose their work permit. Employers profit off people from poor countries and the government aids them.Ben non lmao, people working at Tim Hortons are all paid the same. That’s a funny comparison

Which was poetically known as "exotic dancer". Not erotic. Exotic! The program expired in 2012, actually.Canada had a stripper visa program in 1998 and it was scrapped in 2004. I never suggested that. That came from someone else. Was just stated how everyone is quiet about this.So that’s the conditions you’re wishing on sex workers? Excellent!
