I have been freaking out for a while now, I changed my job about 2 months back, last week we had a routing HIV test at work, they test with the saliva these days and in 20 minutes you can get the result. Me with my colleagues were not worried as it was routine, everyone expected HIV-negative i suppose, I regularly get my self tested for HIV, Hep B and Hep C, last time was December 16th 2011. So the nurse asks if you want it as open or anonymous test, most of us opted for an open test, 20 mins no big deal, except this time a person before me tested positive. :0.
I have not slept well at all since then, obviously I know all about AIDS and HIV from books, but for the first time I had a first hand experience like this. Before I could speak to him, he left with his stuff never to be seen again, I knew him well, he trained me, So that puts more doubts in my mind, I am sure he is not gay or IDU, he is married and has 2 kids. Since then I have read about HIV statistics and probablity in detail, it says 11 new cases of HIV per day in Canada, mostly homosexual, Aborginal, Metro IDU, and hemophillic.:0, Chances are low even without a condom like 1 in 2000, But still I am super tensed and when I heard his case, I simply avoided the test. I use to take things and life for granted, never a BBFS with SP/MP, or anal but still it can happen to anyone. This event will change my life for sure.

You don't know what that guy was doing. For all we know he could have caught through a needle or having BBFS anal from street whore in Thailand. You never know. Sound sidiotic but there people out there who share needle to shoot a bit of heroin everyday to people who have gay BB anal.

Just came from the Jewish General Hospital Infectious Disease clinic earlier today.
After years of hobbying, and 99% of the time included in the mix, I got my first STD.......the drip. Gonorhea.

not a fuckin` joke
burns to pee and was dripping puss
39 dollars later in medication and waiting to heal

I used one agency exclusively (incall ) and will report it to the madame in charge.

boy am I pissed cuz I thought I was smarter than all the dummy hobbyists who believe the bullshit the agencies sell that their girls are tested regularly.

Hope no one out there got hit like me.
Which agency

So many ignorant replies.....

Let's get facts straight.

STD's don't ''look or smell '' bad. That's why they go undetected

Tested regularly means just that....If you got tested last night, and slept with 5 people today, and one of them gave you an STD, well you're next.

''BJ are safe'': You are exchanging bodily fluids, it is a risk.

It's a regular, I know her/him....And the 100's that came before?

You need a cut in order to get infected: No

Aids and other STD's can be treated....Nope, not all.

People, stop being hopeful and believing in unicorns.

Also noticed that many clinics ( at least in mtl and on the north shore) dont suggest right away oral testing for heterosexual men as if its only a certain sexual ofientation that is more at risk.. Of course you can take the initiative of asking them and they will accept, but considering that many of us like dfk /bbbj/DATY and that Ghono/chlam is quite easily transfered and somewhat chernobyl resistant to antibiotics these days I find this lack of proactivity from medical field quite concerning.. Many times I found myself having to explain " why" I want to get tested in the mouth as if it wasnt really necessary

i think gono and chlamydia are 'self limiting" in the throat, i.e. it resolves on its own without antibiotics as the throat is not an ideal medium for these bacteria to reproduce, therefore less important and cost effective to test

 ... Hum .. Imagine you have an asymptomatic ghono/chlam for a few weeks in your throat and you dont know since you never test your throat:

- You dfk/Daty an SP
> she gets it in the throat or vagina from your infected saliva because you never test it
> Her next std test is in a week and a half
> She bbbj 4 clients a day that period of time

> These 30-40 dudes receiving bbbj are now at risk because of you ( Go on a good Ai and ask what are the odds of getting ghono/chlam on your dick from an infected throat and youll be surprised by the percentage )

Absolutely ; hence the first victim I mentionned was the hypothetical SP

I could go on further and add:
If these 40 ish men then go and book elsewhere at least once not knowing they are infected within that week window : thats 40 more SPs now at risk
That's my point. The people who are the most at risk in my opinion are the SP who have a higher volume of clients, and the clients who see more SP. If you are popular as an indy, inadvertently you will end up being booked by men who see a lot of providers, too.. That's actually part of why I raised my rates. Having had precancerous cells due to a past HPV infection was a wake up call last winter.. I don't want to be risking my health like that anymore. I don't personally think agencies and MPs should impose GFE service on the girls.. Or at least clients should be more mindful.

so

so not treatable ?
There are new types of antibiotics that are developed for this, but it's still scary. I don't personally want to end up with a non treatable STI

The ones in the throat are treatable but you have to put two giant needles in your ass for the first antibiotics plus a load of 7 days of antibiotics that gets you sick for the whole week. New regiment for throat ghonos as they are getting out of hand and resistant to the previous treatments and spread easily to genital of partners if they receive oral sex

thorat cultures are are very sensitive and can detect microscopic levels of bacterial presence. Giving antibiotics at the first hint of a bacterial trace (in a non dangerous location of the body) may not be ideal either for bacterial resistance. It is not so black and white.

Of course ; only talking about active ghono/chlam infections. Point being its still important to test it if dfk, daty, dato is on the menu weekly

Let's have a look at the Public Health Agency of Canada STBBI (aka STI) Screening Guidelines (highlights only)

Screening for N. gonorrhoeae is essential for detecting and treating asymptomatic infections and preventing transmission. Depending on the type of sexual activity, it may be necessary to collect specimens from multiple anatomical sites.

Adults and adolescents with multiple partners or a new partners

For persons with multiple sexual partners or a new partner since last tested, offer screening every three to six months

[...]

Recommended specimens and tests for N. gonorrhoeae

Specimens and tests for extragenital sites (pharyngeal and rectal)

Collect pharyngeal specimens for the following people:

  • All females with a history of performing oral sex
  • All males with a history of performing oral sex who are at high risk of exposure (gbMSM, multiple sexual partners or sex with a partner who is at high risk of infection)
Conclusion: based on the above guidelines, all escorts and their clients should be screened for pharyngeal (throat) gonorrhea every three to six months.

Source: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-hea...s/gonorrhea/screening-diagnostic-testing.html

Note from the source: The [preceding] information on collecting swabs for culture in addition to NAAT consist of an interim guidance from the National Advisory Committee on Sexually Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infections. Final recommendations will be available after the completion of a review currently underway.

I get screened every month. If you're active and seeing multiple sp all the time, you should get screened as often as possible.

my take on this is as a provider one test every month is not enough. If you make a living of being a sp, and having high fees, multiple tests per month should be a standard.

You seem to think SPs make a shit ton of money as if there wasn’t a massive physical and psychological cost to having countless strangers use their bodies every week. That mindset is fucked up.
