I had a similar thought the other day, which was: " I miss my capacity to be amazed". We have been chronically (and acuetely) overstimulated by online content. I do my best to limit my consumption of digital content. I get my news from various reputable sources, but I also check X (30 min max, not every day) to see what mainstream media doesn't show us.

I was happy last year, when I visited an art exhibit (impressionist art) that I had not completely lost my capacity to be amazed... Internet and social media in particular, has poisoned our lives.

I had two (2) FB accounts. A "professional" one and a "personal" one. Pro one is alright, personal one tripped a false positive in FB's faggiola AI (for something I posted privately to a friend's timeline, no less) and ended up getting deleted. On one hand, although if I had every last one of the developers who programmed that AI in an enclosed area and a supply of mustard gas at my disposal, I'd flip the switch with a Satanic grin on my face, I've also not felt this free in years ever since that profile got suspended. Now I no longer spend hours arguing and trolling random cunts from thousands of miles away when I could be spending those hours on more fulfilling activities.

• People were more friendly. Now, it feels everyone ignore each other with their headphones.
• Price in general was more affordable like going out to restaurant. Back then, you can go to restaurant and no worry too much on price. Not much the case anymore.
• Force to have the phone with MFA security. So despite being at work trying not using the phone, whenever I need to use certain office app, it triggers MFA
• Politics? I used to not care at all, but I guess it's with age? Stupid arguments or laws that make living harder than before.

Scene out of a zombie movie every time you take public transit and I'm barely exagerating. 90% have their neck bent staring at their phone. My antidote is simple: read a book or look at the outside world through the window. Bingo!

Digital opium has gone global. If you load up books onto your phone and that is what you are staring/looking at that is okay. But we all know that is not the case. 95% would be some social media doom scrolling nonsense. That is the culprit.

If you remove that social media crap your phone becomes a companion/tool instead of the portable digital prison for your brain.
