I wonder if Legault thinks like Trump.

Make Quebec Great Again lol
Absolutely not. He thinks it is a business and wasting money on what he likes like the LA Kings and Bill 96.

'Authoritarian': 318 groups unite against proposed Quebec constitution | Montreal Gazette https://share.google/vfLUIflWPw0kmIHp2

^^^^ I always said that Lego was authoritarian. Passing bill after bill and this one is no exception. I ask where were these ppl to protest and the same ppl that reelected Lego after he had the strictest covid mandates in North America? Curfew, vaccine passport. Already doing that is the mark of a leader that should never be the leader of any government.

there really is no good alternative in QC politics these days. PQ? PSP and nervendin refrendum, no thanks. QS, also sovereignist movement that is eating itself alive, next... I was hoping for a Liberal resurgance, not a perfect choice by any means, but the most 'centralist' party of any...but now with Pablo and the beautiful Marwah, they are f'in it up. There is always Eric Duhaime...likeable, but not a serious alternative...but any of these would be a refreshing change from Lego

The best choice would be Eric Duhaime. He was the only one against covid mandates and is against Bill 96. He is the only sane choice but the boomers living in the regions will vote the PQ.

I think that the time of more than two 4 years terms is in the past.
I was hoping it would be the same in Ottawa but Trump sabotaged my hopes.

Christian Dubé steps down as Quebec health minister, leaves CAQ | CBC News https://share.google/63mFOzMGz6jJnHe7J

^^^^^ Christian Dubé resigns and good riddance. Loool Total disaster as health minister treating healthcare like it is some business. Instead of increasing the budget and capacity, the idiot whips the doctors harder and adds more rules to get them to work harder. The result is it has the opposite effect as intended. Clinics began announcing their intentions to close down, hundreds of doctors applied to go to Ontario and New Brunswick. As we got ppl who cannot find a doctor for years, this incompetent arrogant Christian Dubé along with Lego both whip harder and refuse to spend a dime on where it is needed. The next one that should go is Lego.

And who will do better ? I wouldn't vote for PLQ, QS, the only choice I think is the PQ, at least, PSPP talk like an intelligent man.

Quebec Premier François Legault announces resignation | CBC News https://share.google/aVTALtigejXo7u4CK

^^^^^ Legault just resigned. I never expected this. He was so arrogant but here he did the right thing. Respect. Now we will end up with the PQ. The PLQ does not even have a leader.

About time. He was corrupt as hell and a total Anglo hater.
He should've resigned years ago.

Yep. But also he was authoritarian. He was too concerned with identity politics instead of what things that concerned the average joe working a job daily life like the STM, family doctor, affordability.

I suspect Lego took this move from Trudeau's playbook. He decided to resign to keep the CAQ in power and also to save himself embarrassment. The SAQ Clic fiasco and the party is fighting 5th place with QS. Lego knew his time was up.

Legault's legacy:

  1. Implemented the strictest covid mandates on this side of the hemisphere (the only one in North America to put a curfew).
  2. Authoritarian. Seems to use the Notwithstanding Clause at each chance to pass bills. He governs by decree.
  3. Arrogant
  4. Spending taxpayers money on nonsense like the LA Kings and Northvolt (company gone bankrupt) but has nothing for the STM or healthcare.
  5. Treats healthcare as a business.
  6. Passed laws to suppress rights of English speaking Quebecors.
  7. Actively fought against Canadian energy
  8. Refused to remove the carbon tax
Legault did not resign, he jumped ship to avoid embarrassment to avoid facing the SAAQClic mess and his slumping polls.

In other words, a dictator.

He's pulling a Justin Trudeau by resigning in hopes his party wins the Quebec election.

Yep and it might work and this is bad news for the PQ. Both the PLQ and CAQ could turn things around if they take in an outsider.

While waiting to be elected in 2018, he stated that his government would exploit our gaz and oil.

He also said that he would let a private sector thrive in the health care sector. The public sector would have been compared to the private sector.

At the end of the day, he took the budget surplus from the previous liberal government and spent it like there is no tomorrow and as a result today we have a deficit of 12 billions a year.

I’m glad he is leaving but very sad that all the people will vote either PQ or Liberal instead of considering seriously the Quebec conservatives.

I am loosing hope in Quebec. Taxes, tariffs, and carbon taxes….

Seulement pour préciser pour utiliser la Clause dérogatoire dite la Clause nonobstant il faut le faire par une loi et non par décret.Ce pouvoir est prévu par la Constitution et a été utilisé par d'autre provinces

All governemts use decrees ... for example Carney did to reduce to nil the federal Carbon tax rate while sending compensation cheques to Canadians in provinces other than BC and QC.for taxes they never had to pay
