Agree with RODRIGUEZ....quite sure he will lead the PLQ/ next election....BUT he has a heck of work in front to seduce voters....surtout les francophones.

Exactly, the PLQ is seen as the QLP by many francophones, the party of Montreal anglophones.
The polls give them under 10 % approval with the francophone voters. Possibly the party position on Bill 96 and 21 play a role.

Still I do not see what your post about breast implants had to do with Quebec politics except tangentially because it was about GND .

As to QS MLA Bouazzi his attack(s) were not racist actually he was accusing others of racism including a CAQ minister with Haitian roots . His own variety of Quebec bashing. Some on this board have also done so.... rightly or wrongly.

My post on GND was for questioning why he take a 3 months paternity leave like if he is breastfeeding the newborn !
Probably I am an old man not used to new father actions.

What I do not understand how he even won a second super majority? He had the strictest covid mandates in North America and imposed a curfew. He is authoritarian. This guy is a disaster, healthcare is worse then the other provinces.
The sad reality is even after many years since its over now, lots of peoples still think he did the right thing and still believe the covid propaganda. Even tough there was countless studies showing the govs were just throwing stuff at the wall and hoping some would stick, the general population still think it was better to do anything that "could work" than do nothing or minimal. They were totally "subjucated" by the mainstream media narrative.

The reality is in Quebec we have a population that is aging and obviously confinements and such wouldn't affect as much an older person who spend its time watching TVA shows every day doing nothing else. Lots of the younger peoples hated the restrictions but still simply ignored them (for the most part). Often i saw Instagram post of peoples having parties (5 to 10 peoples) even during confinements. For a lot of these younger peoples the Premier and the party in charge don't matter much.

Also lets not forget beside Eric Duhaime , the other parties all rolled with the covid stuff.

Now the difference right now is that PSPP truly appear as a nice, calm, friendly, promising politician. He speak well, perfectly mixing the friendly tone with a more "official and logical" tone. He is also in a historically well view party and even tough independance is not as high as it was during the 70-80-90s etc, its not something that seem "bad" for a lot of peoples.

Basically he succeed where GND fail because GND not only often get aggressive, but he also push a lot on the leftist activist agenda and i still think QS is a "joke party" personally. Im not saying they don't have good ideas at times and yes sometimes they can push on certain things to be include and its good. But if this party was in power it would be horrible. They wouldn't know how to govern without pushing their agenda. I truly hope from my lifetime ill never see QS or NPD get in power but its very possible in 20 years with the boomers gone and more and more of these softies leftist activists among the population that it could become a reality. We just have to look at what is happening in our universities right now...

Anyway. I think peoples rallied behind Legault because he was a mix of PQ and PLQ ... He rallied peoples on both side basically leaving just the hardcore independantist and the hardcore anglos that will always vote liberal in their respective parties. PQ also had no good leaders for a long time. Now that change.

Personally im still not sure who i will vote for. I voted Duhaime last time obviously. But i do like PSPP and the only thing i have against him is doing nothing during Covid, but then again he had barely just a few elected and didn't want to alienate a huge base... I used to follow the guy on facebook a long time ago. He had good ideas even then. Before he won the leader seat he actually ran once before against the "old guard" and he ended 5 out of 5 i think. But then the party crumbled hardcore and Lisée was out, the ones that followed him had nothing to offer and finally PSPP was in.
