Hey, I just want to raise a few points. Not defending or condemning anything. I don't know the specifics.
1) it's happened to me on several occasions that I suddenly get a bunch of texts at once but it's clear some of them were sent long before others. Is it the network, my phone? I don't know. But i have no idea exactly when the person actually texted me. I then have to decide if I reply but I shouldn't. Or if I don't and the sender thinks I completely ignored him.
2) Back when I used a free phone app, it would routinely send messages twice (received and sent) and also often delay sending/receiving.
3) It's a catch 22 situation because compare your reaction to the reaction of people whose expectation is to get a response it's hard to know what to do sometimes.
4) You never know what could happen and it is absolutely up to you to take precautions to prevent situations like those described. Nowadays it is super easy to get an e-sim card on your personal phone and simply disable it when you're not using that phone line or expecting anyone to contact you.
5) I'll just remind everyone that we also have to keep texts or calls we receive private and we each have our own system depending on what the set up for our work number is:
When I used a phone app, I would disable, turn off notifications, hide or even delete the app. Now I have a second sim card so I have a different system. I don't post ads or early morning but routinely get text messages at all hours. So I make sure that line is silent or notifications disabled any time I don't want to be disturbed, woke up or whatever.
Moral of the story: at least 50% is on you to make sure none of the scenarios you've listed can happen at all in the first place, even if someone sends you a text message that's unsolicited.
I can't comment on your situation however it's wild that it is even a possibility that one wrong text or call could be seen by anyone.
So, as an example. Right now, I'm unsure what to do because I was recently in the hospital for several days and have been recuperating since. I'm not available and I don't know precisely when I will be. I've received inquiries the whole time. Some I responded to a few days later, others I was able to reply pretty soon after they were sent. But I have a bunch of texts I haven't responded to and I have no idea what I should do. Do I ignore and risk having people think I completely ignored them? Or do I reply and risk getting people pissed off? Honestly, what do I do?
You raise some excellent points. I didn’t think about network issues, or receiving delayed texts all at once, etc.Hey, I just want to raise a few points. Not defending or condemning anything. I don't know the specifics.

What is the burner app?I have zero tolerance for that behaviour from TDS... unless I told them they can. One once texted me without my request, they're now blacklisted. Usually, business isn't going well so they try... terrible way to look for business IMO, they're just shooting themselves in the foot.
To avoid the pop-up situation, I've installed a burner app with a 2nd number, which I've set to silent... when I receive I text if I do, there's no pop-up, noise or vibration... there is a red dot on the app like saying it needs update, that's it.
This is also a reason why I basically only deal with agencies. In the end, I only give my phone number to the SPs I truly appreciate and trust.
Pas d'accord... Anyway c'est illegal pour une TDS de faire de la sollicitation
Am I the only one who laughed at the irony of this comment finishing with "XO"?
In that case I’d say you most likely dodge a bullet.I didn't... I have exchanged 3 text with her..it was like (3 weeks ago):
- are you available tonight?
- no
- tomorrow morning?
- after 11am
- ok it won't work, bye
So I was really confused to received sollicitation 3 weeks later... It's not like it was my best one, I never seen her...
For those who don't know, XO is the biggest agency in Montreal lol.
Yeah the emojis suck I don't know why they don't support unicode emojis in 2023.
Ce n’est pas à elle de solliciter des rv. Mais sur le cell il y a moyen de ne pas afficher nos messages sur les écrans d’accueil pour tlm de voir les aperçus de messagesMais c’est toi qui l’a contacter en premier.
