Uh oh, they just misplaced the formula again - worst loss of the season.

Keep in mind that we're barely over one month into the season. New coach, new system, new players. I'd be more worried if some of this inconsistency--wins followed by losses--were to happen three months from now.

The thing is,they don,t have a winnig formula yet.Their just an average .500 team who,ll be struggling to make the playoffs this year, just like the maple laughs.
Winning against the Habs in 2006-07 is no big feat.

Wrong, dude. Just look at their wins this year. The evidence is there. It's the same formula: PP conversions, PK efficiency, scoring from defense (Souray). Habs have much better defense this year than last. If the playoffs were to begin today, Habs would be in along with the Maple Laughs. Ultimately, as they say, the proof is in the pudding.

It seems that the team is losing confidence in Aebischer. When he lets in a bad goal all the air seems to go out of the balloon just like with Theo last year. Now he's been pulled from the net in his last two starts. I think they should let Huet have a decent stretch of games in the net and see where it takes them. Let's see how he does tomorrow night.

When Flower was a kid he used to torture cats. When he was a famous hockey player he bragged about it.

When Flower was 29 he almost killed himself driving drunk. No problem there ( and he was lucky because a spike just missed going through his eyeball as he sped along in his drunken stupor) but he could have killed innocent people.

Shortly after Flower retired he was being paid 75,000 a year by the habs (and remember this was a couple of decades ago) as an ambassador (translation: do sweet fuck all except go to free fancy dinners and have your picture taken) and had the balls and the stupidity to criticize management for paying him "like a clerk". I doubt that many clerks were pulling down 75 g's two decades ago but I bet that all of them were working harder than Lafleur!

These are just 3 reasons why he lacks class. Meanwhile Latendresse may be just a kid but he handled the recent Patrick Roy incident with real dignity. More power to the kid!

Dude, like someone said earlier, the season is still very young.
Come April,if the Habs are still in fifth I'll be more than please and surprised.
I think they'll end up 8'th or 7 at best,maybe 9th although I don,t wish.
So far I must say that they,re not to shaby but the season is still young.
I still think that winning against the Habs is no big feat.

The cat torture is new to me,until now I'd never heard of such stories.
I did meet the Flower twice in my life, once at a blood clinic,he was very patient and friendly, acted like we were his friends, that was about 20 years ago.
Then at some alumni game a few years later, still very classy and respectful towards everybody,he showed lots of class, signed every thing that was tossed at him and was taken in pictures with everybody.
You should,ve seen the hapiness in the eyes of everybody, young and old who got to talk with him.
He sure made some mistake but I doubt he'll be remebered as a classless guy IMHO.
BTW,I like Latendresse too.

Will the flags in Toronto be flying at halfmast after Raycroft's performance Wednesday night?

Im really happy that things didn't go well for him because of the NHL All Star ballots... Its complete BS... HOW CAN RAYCROFT BE NOMINATED AND HUET ISN'T??? There is absolutly no logical explaination. If we say its this years stats, huet is in the top 3 in every stats for goalies in the east! Raycroft is behind... If its about last years stats, its even more retarded seeing how Huet played great and Raycroft, well, sucked more than most MPs...
If you ask me, they did it for the Toronto market... With them missing the playoffs last year and doing good this year (eventhough they we're expected too...) the NHL wants to "revive" the interest over there... which is retarded...
anywho... Huet played another great games and has been the 1st star in all of his last 3 starts! The guys is amazing and if he keeps on playing that well, dare I say Vezina????

Hi,

Well,that's 3 in a row.who would ahve thought?
Not me.
And not against anybody;red hot Atlanta,Minnesota and Buffalo.
Unfortunately I think it will come to an end tonight against Philly has they will be well rested having only played yesterday afternoon whilst the Habs have played at 8 pm!

They are a totally different team with Huet in the nets. It's about time that Carboneau decides that Huet is the number 1 goalie and lets him stay in nets for awhile.

Four in a row after tonight.

What a game !! Souray scores with 1 second left in OT!! Montreal is only 1 point behind Toronto with 3 games in hand.

Techman, your right, Carbo should stick with Huet, clearly our #1

Cosmo, you may be right, a letdown after a big emotional win, hopefully Carbo wont let that happen, Philly has been brutal even worse if they dont have Forsberg - hopefully theyll start Esche, who sucks

mtlman2005, your right, its a joke Raycroft is on the ballot, he is at best a slightly better than average goalie and he sucked last year in Boston. Huet has been spectacular and deserves a shot

With Huet in the nets the habs will never be dead in the water but they need something else before they can actually swim.

With Esche in the nets the Flyers will always have a cancer on the team.

With Raycroft in the nets the Maple Laughs will continue their 40 years of ineptitude.

Darn it!:(
Hate to say it,but I told you so! I knew the Habs wouldn't win, they had to travel late last night after a hard game against a good team, while the Flyers had an afternoon game and flew early.
Besides, after 3 big wins against good teams, the last position Flyers came has an anti-climax!

Aebischer in nets seems to be a guaranteed loss for the Habs these days. That makes three losses in a row where he has let in 4 goals. If they want to go on an extended winning streak, they have to keep Huet in the net. I think they should leave him in there until he has a really bad game and then rest him for 1 or 2.

By Huet?? I assume you mean Aebischer. Maybe he realizes he's on his way to being declared the number 2 goalie.

Aebischer's a good backup goalie but no more. There's not a lot of high quality at this position though so he's actually better than many starting goalies such as Raycroft, Esche and the stupendously overpaid DiPietro. There are only a few top calibre goalies - Hasek (still!), Kiprusoff, Luongo and Brodeur. With a little more time Huet might join that elite circle but sieves like Raycroft never will. I feel sorry for Paul Maurice who is too good a coach to be condemned to a horrible place like Toronto.

I have known the Flower quite a few years and he has lots of class IMHO. Fans still love him years after retirement. That's why The Flower remains popular. Lafleur says it like he sees it, he is most certainly outspoken. Occasionally he says something silly, but that is not to be confused with lack of class. Lafleur also has a wicked sense of humour, and his popularity never went to his head. :)

Latendresse is showing maturity for a 19 year old, with all the pressure of the french media. The best thing Latendresse can do is let his play on the ice speak for himself!;)
