LOL,

Good work, boys!!

To quote iggy, "Man this is good stuff lol"

It proves icky Iggy knows as little about baseball as hockey.

Also, whatever happened to our fave DD 41 and his constant pronunciations that it was too early in the season to enjoy how the Sox were doing. I'd love to hear him again with 6 games left. What a great laugh it would be.

Talk about ancient history.'

You mean iggy broke his absolute never talk "ancient history" rule....AGAIN. ;)

Well, the Yankees won a game. Too bad nearly all the other teams looking for that awful one-game playoff spot also won, Tampa, Cleveland, Texas. Let's see how they handle that very tough Tampa pitching staff coming up. But it would be priceless to see the Astros take a couple of games with everything on the line.

Meanwhile, Buchholz looked pretty good but wasn't good enough for the first time. Overall, the Red Sox pitching staff looks very solid with Dempster where he belongs in relief for the playoffs. The question is will the lineup keep finding someone to step up at a higher level in the playoffs.

Cheers,

Merlot

A miserable final game at the House that Ruth Didn't Build for Andy and Mo. Andy threw a gem and left to a thunderous ovation, just minutes before the light-hitting Yankees breathed their last gasp of hope of a Wild Card shot. With the Rays and Tribe winning, the over-paid, under-winning team once known as the Bombers now trail both Cleveland and Tampa Bay by four in the lost column.

What a sad waste of $228,000,000. With the losses of Pettitte, Rivera, Kuroda, Granderson and Kuroda, and with a barren farm system, the future looks as bleak for the light hitting Yankees as it does for Joe.T's football picks. A tough century for Brian Cashdollar's squad. One would have to think that both Girardi and Cashdollar will get shit-canned over the winter.

Will it be the Yankees or the Blue Jays that will end up signing Timmy Lincecum, it certainly will be an interesting off season.

Rumor going around that the Blue Jays are going to loosen the purse strings just a bit in order to get that one more player that is needed to get them over the hump and into the playoffs, will it be Timmy Lincecum?.

Well, I certainly hope it's the light-hitting, pitching-poor Yankees since Lincecum hasn't pitched for shit for the last two years, despite pitching his home games in cavernous ATT Park. Of course, since the Yankees will be tightening the purse strings, they probably won't be in the market for much.

However, Joe, why don't you save all this for the off-season thread. Some teams still have a lot of baseball still to play. For some of us, it's much to early to think about the off-season. I believe that starts after the parade.

Fair enough, but it's a fact that the ratings in baseball take a tremendous hit when the Yankees are not playing.

Robinson Cano to the Blue Jays?.

I certainly hope that the Jays do not pick up Lincecum. He's a shell of the pitcher he once was & many in the past predicted his awkward delivery would eventually lead to arm problems.

I doubt Cano would want to go to Toronto. No star player in his right mind would want to play on that crappy artificial turf which destroys careers. Rogers would like to have a natural grass in a few years, but it likely won't happen until 2017 since the Argonauts will play in the Rogers Center until that time & you can't have a football team playing (and destroying) on natural grass.

The Jays had been rumoured to be looking to upgrade at 2nd base during the off-season, but now believe they may have their second baseman of the future in Ryan Goins, who's played brilliantly since being called up a month ago. My guess is that they'll try to get a starting pitcher and possibly try to re-sign Rajai Davis as the team's 4th outfielder. It wouldn't surprise me to see Jose Bautista dealt away in order to get a #2 or #3 starting pitcher next season. The Jays will also actively seek a starting catcher to replace JP Arencibia, who will likely be dealt away during the off-season.

I see Cano heading to the Dodgers. They have a team that could contend for years, and there's a spot available at 2nd base. If not, i see him staying in familiar surroundings, New York. Do the Mets need a 2nd baseman?

Shhh. Don't tell Joe. Maybe the Yankees will give him a 10 year/$250 million deal.

The Dodgers have already said they're not going to spend the money for Cano.

One thing Joe is right about is that it's going to be an interesting winer for the Yankees. Considering a) They have almost $100 million already spent on 5 washed up players b) their farm system is barren c) they're committed to staying under $180 million d) there's a weak free agent class and e) Pettitte, Rivera, Kuroda, Granderson, and Cano are all likely gone, it will be very interesting to see how they can manage to rebuild over the winter. The real bad news: Ben Cherington isn't available.

I see a big bounce back year for the Yankees in 2014, CC Sabathia, Mark Teixeira, and Pineda, all will be healthy, rested and ready to go and still in their prime, there is also Japanese pitching sensation Masahiro Tanaka, he of the 21-0 record and staggering ERA of 1.24 who the Yankees will be in the running for, anybody who thinks that the Yankees will sit idle and regress is smoking some really good shit, throw in a few other surprises that the Yankees might have up their sleeve and the resigning of the best second baseman in the world suddenly their future does not look so bad.

We don't have the money

Plus we have a decent guy in Daniel Murphy

He's # 3 in hits in the NL this year

Best Regards

"It ain't over til it's over." Yogi Berra. It's over. Sayafuckinara Bombers. RIP 2012 New York Yankees, when $228,106,125, just isn't enough.

Joe, only a fucking moron® could suggest that the washed-up shells of Mark Teixeira and CC Sabathia are still in their prime. Yeah, the Yankees look fabulous for 2014. Here's how I see them lining up:

C - Who the fuck knows.
1b - The shards of Mark Teixeira, now entering his seventh consecutive year of declining production.
2b - Bill Dunno
SS - Some 40 year old guy on crutches.
3b - Some guy with two replacement hips.
LF - Vermin LOL Wells
CF - Brett Gardner
RF - Some 40 year old .262 hitter who someday will be in the Hall of Fame if the voters remember that he didn't suck his last few years.
DH - Maybe they can resign Travis "Remember Me" Hafner.

SP - The corpse of CC Sabathia
SP - Ivan "I'll give you a couple of good weeks sometime during the season" Nada
SP - Dunno, but we'll dredge up somebody. Maybe Roy Halladay needs a job.
SP - Dunno II, I hear Dontrelle Willis is available.
SP - Dunno III, maybe they can entice Roger Clemens to come back with the promise of a hearty introduction from Ma. Pinstripes.

Closer - David Robertson, until he fucks it up again.
SetUp- Dunno

Little money to spend, weak free agent pool, no farm system, no brains in the front office.

Anybody else notice that ChercherFemmes glowing farm system reports have disappeared? An honest man will just shut up rather than post-bullshit.

Well, you may be right, Joe, considering how well your picks have gone so far the year. Tell me, do you ever get tired of embarrassing yourself?

Only embarrassment here are the Red Sox fans. I don't have to name them, do I?

Red Sox are waiting to see which team will beat them in a best of 5 Series, Texas, Cleveland or Tampa Bay.

Well, well, well, look what just climbed out of the sewer. By the way, there's a whole thread just for guys who think this season is over, poor souls. You might want to join them. Meanwhile, in the real world, there's a whole lot of good ball to be played.

Should the Tampa Bay Rays advance to the ALDS, when they play in Boston on Friday night (as significant underdogs), they will be playing in their fourth city in six days.

Good day for the Yankees. Robbie Cano shot a 3 over 75. Sabathia came in 2 strokes behind him.

Brett Gardner shot an 88, but fortunately he'll have plenty of time to work on his game.
