Besides, a coach CAN obviously have an impact on his team...but only to a certain degree. Ultimately it's the PLAYERS who score the goals and the PLAYERS who prevent the goals.
Edmonton proved that right, for years they have had a subpar coach and it showed ( besides perhaps the worst management of any team ). I know McLellan will make a huge difference in Edmonton. I talked to a Flames fan I know about the Babcock trade and he figures he is probably the best move Toronto could have made and figures TO's elite players will step up their game ( there is a reason that a 50 goal and 100 point man for years all the sudden is invisible ).
For myself I am a hockey fan who enjoys watching any 2 good team play and cheer for my home team ( Oilers ). I do not follow all the trades and players stats because I am far too busy during hockey season.
There are Flames and Oiler fans I know out west who jab each other the same way as some of you do here, you gotta remember it is just a game and supposed to be fun to watch.
All I am hoping for now is that the battle of Alberta is good again and like in the 80's teams will be worried on their road swing through the province.
