The only reason Stroll is at Williams is because of Daddy's money, but I doubt that the papasan will be an owner in F1
Sergio Perez is definitely on his way out..Ocon might go to Renault..that all depends on what Toro Rosso does with the contract of Carlos Sainz Jr.

Indeed Lance Stroll (or Strulovitch) is an Formula One driver because of the family fortune. Just like Nikki Lauda at one time. But he's proven himself to be a heck of a good race car driver throughout his young career and give him a good car and he'll bring the results.

Personally i don't think Force India is that much of a better car than the Williams. If i'm Lawrence Stroll i'd be better off investing in one of the better racing teams. But of course his son would have to be part of the package and most top racing teams already are set when it comes to drivers. I also heard rumours that Force India is also struggling financially and may not even have a team next season unless it's sold to Stroll. And without Stroll's money there's a good chance that Williams will not be able to field a team either.

If it were up to him Lawrence Stroll would likely prefer to invest in the Ferrari team. He's a huge Ferrari cars collector and also owns the Quebec Ferrari dealership. He loves Ferraris!!

It seems there will be a lot of changes next season when it comes to drivers. Ricciardo is likely to leave Red Bull. Strong chance Raikonen either leaves Ferrari or retires. Will Bottas be back with Mercedes? Where will Charles Leclerc end up with?

By the way conditions for qualifications earlier today were awful because of the rain. Lewis Hamilton ended up getting the poll position ahead of Bottas and the Ferraris. Stroll qualified for Q2 but ended up crashing due to slippery conditions and the team chose to keep his car in the garage. The front wing came off during the minor collision. It shouldn't be a problem for tomorrow morning's race. Ricciardo had a terrible run & surprisingly even Verstappen didn't fare as good as expected.

1. Niki Lauda never used a penny of his family's money when he started out in F1
2.Both Force India and Williams were very strong teams about 2-3 years ago. Both have Mercedes power..Let's see what happens in the future
3.Ferrari will have to wait to see how the cards play out in the coming months. The death of Sergio will impact the whole FCA organization globally . I think that Jeep will have to be sold off as it is a major asset. Fiat is trash in North America, and the only top seller in Chrysler is the Ram division and the Pacifica minivan
4.Alonso will leave F1, as he will go to Indy car with Mclaren, possibly with Honda power and alignment with Michael Andretti
5. Ricciardo will stay with Red Bull, as there is nowhere for him to go but down if he leaves ( Red Bull will have Honda power next year )
6. Bottas is signed for the next 2 years

And in the Crazy world of F1, Daniel will go to Renault next year . I guess the scenario of Honda power might have played a big role in his decision . Will Sainz now go back to the Red Bull seat he wanted when at Toro Rosso ?

Lawrence Stroll will likely become part-owner of the Force India team and this is great news for Lance Stroll. However it's very bad news for the Williams team since losing Stroll's money will quite possibly make it very difficult for them to remain in Formula One. They're already losing a major sponsor and they need every dollar they can find in order to keep the team alive.

The only reason Stroll is at Williams is because of Daddy's money, but I doubt that the papasan will be an owner in F1.

Lawrence Stroll & a group of investors (among them Canadian Andre Desmarais) just purchased Force India:

Lawrence Stroll-led consortium saves Force India

The Force India team has been saved by a consortium led by billionaire Lawrence Stroll, the father of F1 driver Lance.

Force India’s future was thrown into doubt last month when the team was placed into administration due to debts owed.

The team’s financial troubles have been widely reported over the past few years with several parties linked to a buy-out, however, that never came to fruition.

That, though, finally took place on Tuesday evening.

The consortium, led by Stroll and supported by Force India’s ‘senior management’, agreed a deal with the joint administrators, appointed by FRP Advisory.

The deal has saved the 405 jobs in the F1 team and will ensure that all the team’s creditors are paid in full, with ‘ongoing funding guaranteed’.

“This outcome secures the future of the Force India team in Formula 1 and will allow our team of racers to compete to our full potential,” said Force India operations chief Otmar Szafnauer.

“I am delighted that we have the support of a consortium of investors who believe in us as a team and who see the considerable business potential that Force India has within F1 now and in the future.

“At Force India, our expertise and commitment has meant that we have always punched above our weight and this new investment ensures that we have a bright future ahead of us.

“I also would like to thank Vijay, the Sahara Group and the Mol family for all of their support and taking the team as far as their circumstances would allow.”

Administrator Geoff Rowley added: “All creditors will be paid in full, all jobs will be preserved, and the team will have significant funding to invest in its future.

“Funding to support the team will be made available from today, and significantly more will be available once the company emerges from administration, which we expect within the next two to three weeks.”

Stroll’s fellow investors are Canadian entrepreneur Andre Desmarais, Jonathan Dudman of Monaco Sports and Management, fashion business leader John Idol, telecommunications investor John McCaw Jr, financial expert Michael de Picciotto, and Stroll’s business partner Silas Chou.

The next step in the deal is to finalise the finer points including the final agreement to buy the team.

Thanks for the update. I suppose it's just a matter of time until it's announced that Lance Stroll has joined his father's Force India team?

It might happen before the end of the season...

There are still open seats left at F1 teams as of this morning : ( powerplant in 2019 listed )

2 seats at Force India ( Mercedes )
2 seats at Williams ( Mercedes )
2 seats at Toro Rosso ( Honda )
2 seats at Haas ( Ferrari )
1 seat at Sauber ( Ferrari )
