Au contraire it’s actually very good news for McDavid & the Oilers. Initially there were concerns that had the MRI shown a tear he could have possibly required surgery & missed months, possibly longer. The news are actually the best-case scenario.McDavid to miss at least couple of weeks......not a good news.
A draw? Really? Looks more like Rempte is still the NHL punching bag!Rempe v. McIrath Part II!!!!!!!! Pretty good fight but a draw. Rempe v. McIlrath III is needed to resolve things LOL
He got in some high value shots. He throws a heavy punch so 3 of his punches is equal to 5 of McIlrath's.A draw? Really? Looks more like Rempte is still the NHL punching bag!
They should not be allowing him to face this many shots, especially from a team like Ottawa. This was a problem last year as well, allowing too many shots on goal and expecting Shesterkin to stand on his head. They need to do better than this..BUT IGOR was IGOR with 40 saves.....just spectacular once again...
I might be wrong but I doubt any team will pay that much for goalies anymore. Stats and championship have proven that it’s money well invested.Rangers likely don’t want to pay him as much as he wants which is rumored to be over $11.25 million for 8 years.
I definitely meant money NOT well invested.Stats and championship have proven that it’s money well invested.
I think you are allowing anger and frustration over the failed investment in Carey Price to cloud your thinking on this. The Rangers, unlike Montreal, have a team that is close to being able to win the Stanley Cup Championship. They have a relatively young core- although Panarin is aging, LaFreniere is a budding young star who is a few years away from superstardom and captaincy of this team. Igor Shesterkin is a diference maker and what they are paying for is the chance that in the next 8 years he makes the difference in one or two or maybe 3 runs to the Stanley Cup. In Carey Price's case, and assuming he stayed mentally and physically healthy which he did not do for much of the tenure of his contract, there was not a good enough team around him to have enabled him to make a difference. So his contract was basically a lot of money for nothing.I definitely meant money NOT well invested.
Fully agree...on the same page....lol.....belle victoire de 3-0 vs KRAKEN....les SENS impressionnent...bon duo de gardiens et le full package...coaching staf à son affaire......belle belle surprise cette année....BRAVO.Another loss for the Habs but it was a close game & could have won the game had they had more than one guy who can score goals. Sidney Crosby’s two goals was the difference & the habs were the best tonic for the Pens who are trying to escape the basement in their division.
On a different note the Laval Rockets won again today and have lost only 1 game this season. They are a very exciting team to watch under former Blue Jackets coach Pascal Vincent. Some of the habs players may start wishing to get demoted to Laval in order to play fun, winning exciting hockey in a beautiful sold-out arena! I attended last night’s game against Providence & was shocked at how great the atmosphere is in that beautiful arena! I can’t wait to be back!
By the way Ottawa won again tonight & i believe this may very well be the year they finally get back in the playoffs. They finally have solid goaltending, a respected very well regarded coaching staff, solid veterans who provide good leadership, a true leader in captain Brady Tkachuk & a great core of young offensive players in Tim Stutlze, Drake Batherson, Josh Norris, Thomas Chabot, Jake Sanderson & the aforementioned Brady Tkachuk. Go Sens!
The Islanders are off to a disastrous start to the season. I’m starting to wonder if Patrick Roy will last the season of things don’t start improving. He may be the next coaching candidate to be fired knowing how impulsive Lou can be. In Boston Swayman is also having an awful season. That’s a big tough team but Pastrnak is the only player who scores. Without excellent goaltending & other players helping out with the scoring you can’t win that way. They seem to be playing a bit better now but if the trend continues i fear that Jim Montgomery may unfairly get the ax.NYR 5 NYI 2.....another IGOR demonstration /talent with again 37 shots.......always fun to watch SHESTERKIN---SOROKIN.....IGOR has a better/talented team in front of him.....BUT he will need a better protection.
