True, but Bennett and Reinhart can take matter in their own hands, with the captain. And lets not for forget Bobrovsky, who, in the past years, have manage to show he’s a solid beast in the playoffs.

Star Jets forward Mark Schiefle received extremely sad news this morning: his father had passed away during the night. The entire team is in shock & there are no news whether or not the devastated Schiefle will be able to play in tonight’s game in Dallas. My condolences to Mark Schiefle & his family in these very difficult times.
I dont know if he will play, according to one NHL article, the passing of his dad was not expected in any way and apparently, Scheifele is devastated. I cant imagine someone performing under these circumstances. But who knows? We’ve seen, in the past, some athletes going through such situations and chose to go out there and perform.

With his team facing elimination, Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele will play in Game 6 on Saturday night in Dallas, coach Scott Arniel confirmed during his pregame media availability, a day after the star's father, Brad Scheifele, unexpectedly died.
Somewhat reminds me of a decision i made years ago when i was in high school. An uncle of mine passed away unexpectedly on the morning of a basketball game i was scheduled to play in. It was a playoff game & although I wasn’t the best player on my team i was an important player & my teammates had picked me as their team captain at the start of the season. My parents told me it was up to me if i played or not & added that my uncle would want me to play since he was a big influence on my life at the time & followed my games closely. So i decided to play & dedicated the game to my deceased uncle. Well i was a mess the entire game. I was like a zombie & couldn’t concentrate on the task at hand. I missed very easy shot. I missed ever free throw. Finally early in the 2nd half i pulled myself out of the game since i realized i was hurting my team more than anything. We ended up losing that game but ended up winning the series later that week. The main reason i played was that i figured playing would take my mind off my uncle’s death & the total opposite happened.
ESPN reporter Leah Hextall said that Mark Scheifele's decision was swift and decisive. She also said that Scheiefele's mother supported his decision and also said that Mark Scheifele playing tonight is something his father would have wanted.
The Scheifele story is somewhat overshadowing another big story in this series which is the Battle of the American #1 and #2 goalies between Hellebuyck and Oettinger. There are significant ramifications at stake here and it was already mentioned on the ESPN broadcast that Oettinger wants badly to be starting US goalie at the Olympics. He wants a gold medal.
Is it just me, but after 2 periods of very intense playing with a shit load of heavy body checks, especialy from the Jets, and there is still zero penalty called so far. What does that tells you? In my book this is just impossible in a hockey game of this importance, I wonder what kind or directves came from the League.
Ah well another canadian team out! This time Hellebuyck did a great job(so his opponent). The winning goal was a perfect one timer.

I really hope USA Hockey took note of Oettinger's performance in this series and places him as #1 goalie for Team USA at the 2026 Olympics. With Hellebuyck as #2. Time has come to start counting the postseason performances.

Une triste triste fin....dans tous les sens du mot....SCHEIFELE a été la 1ère étoile de ce match......BIG credit to him....and to DALLAS/PLAYERS quI ont démontré une grande classe et respect dans la victoire.....BRAVO.....and the best team won.
Amen to this! Les Stars vont être très dur à battre pour la suite des choses. En ce moment ils ont le meilleur gardien des séries et une équipe qui ne démontre aucune faiblesse.
Both Edmonton and Toronto have the better firepower but Dallas and Florida have the best goalies and a much more balanced team, so I say Panthers and Stars are better teams. But its hockey in the NHL playoffs style so, anything can happen.
Nobody knows exactly what the rules are until the puck drop and then, one need to adjust his playing style according to the referee’s mood!!! Lmao
Would say DALLAS and PANTHERS ont plus de profondeur and best goalies.....EDM and TOR have more explosive talented players....BUT at the end of the day la profondeur et le goaltending will make the difference...IMHO.
