Will Bennett be a free agent after this season ? I think I heard that.

My guess is that he’ll get many offers in free agency & many teams are willing to overpay him. However if i’d have a crystal ball i’d predict that he’ll end up staying in Florida for considerably less money than he could get elsewhere. Why less money? The Panthers don’t have a lot of room to play with considering they have other free agents they’d like to re-sign such as Aaron Ekblad & possibly Brad Marchand, among others. Bennett has found the perfect team & perfect location to play hockey & he knows it. Leaving for big dollars would also complicate things for him since fans would likely complain about his inability to produce & play the style of hockey he’s known for in the playoffs during the regular season. He’s always been the total opposite during the regular season. Paying huge dollars on a 7-year contract elsewhere would likely annoy that team’s fan base.

It is so over for Marner in Toronto that he is cancelling his charity's local events before he even signs with another team:

Can there be any bigger sign that it's OVER in Toronto? I think it's mainly he doesn't want to pay high taxes on the money he will be making on the next contract. He is looking for a low tax jurisdiction.

Both are very good at piling up stats. I like to call them "Stat Men" because they win stats categories and awards, but no rings.

Edmonton is a little bit short defensively and its not just because of the goalies. McDavid was responsible for the Tkachuk goal last night. He is a guy who can keep both teams in the game which, if nothing else, is exciting!

It was reported on WFAN this morning that Sam Bennett has a handshake with the Panthers in place to re-sign. He willl grant the Panthers a hometown discount and sigh for less than he might be offered on the open market, but: NO INCOME TAX IN FLORIDA- DUH!!!!!!!!!'

Why do you guys think no Canadian teams have won Stanley Cup since 1993? It will certainly continue until you elect some conservatives who stand up to the oppressive taxation!

BIG BIG CREDIT to the PANTHERS....une 2ème Coupe consécutive...wow....tout un exploit par une équipe remarquable et un coach unique/impressionnant.....BRAVO.

La saison est terminée.....vive les vacances.....ça va faire du bien de prendre un peu de distance....même si le hockey n'est jamais loin......et Octobre va venir tellement vite......alors enjoy......profitez bien.
