Without trying to sound like I`m self promoting.
Where is there a good site for an independant escort to advertise on.
I already know about sexyescortads but I don`t get very good response from them.

Also what is the going rate in Montreal.... I just moved here.

Questions-girl,

Welcome to MERB. I agree with Dee's advice - if you don't certify your photos, they will be presumed to be fake. Regarding rates, it depends - I think you would need to provide us with a little more info. There are different rate structures in Montreal depending upon what market segment you happen to fall into, and the demand for a lady with your looks and services, whatever they happen to be, but the range is generally from $130-$300/hour for outcall escorts.

I don't want to sound like I'm promoting Merb, but this is actually a very good place to launch your career. :) Here's a sure-fire eight-step business plan, compliments of a well-wisher:

1. Become a Merb advertiser (a modest investment you'll be able to pay off with your first date)

2. In the advertisers section, introduce yourself and ask this community for suggestions about building your website, what niches remain unserviced in the market and so on.

3. Participate in discussions in the Lounge on topics of your choice. Many people here love to read the views of SPs. And indies are particularly appreciated. Try to be authentic.

4. Try to get the members you seem to click with online to pay you a visit and do a first positive review.

5. Develop time management skills or hire a personal assistant.

6. Reign as Queen of Merb for approximately 3 months.

7. Announce you've had a good time in the biz, but have decided to move on to pursue other career and/or educational interests. Quit the biz and break your groupies' lonely hearts.

8. Return some time later at double your initial rate. Milk the market.

You can take that to the bank. ;)

Best of luck,
JB

How can I reach you questions-girl

I've been looking for a good daytime incall for a long time, where are you hiding. I know you say you've been advertising as a masseuse, but where (paper, internet, ect.) The sooner I hear from you, the sooner you'll probably hear from me (hehe). Peace......

I'm hoping Montreal works out for me. I want to put down roots and stay for awhile. The customer service in the stores is lousy but the people are wonderfully friendly.

Questions-girl,

Not sure where you are from but I find the customer service in the Montreal stores to be better than where I come from. This is particularly true in department stores like Le Baie. The salespeople, aside from all being bilingual, seem to me to be much better trained than their counterparts down here.

Well I've been dealing with Bell Sympatico all day. And I've had a few people thumb their noses up at me because of my accent. (They either argue I am not french or I'm a stuck up parisian)

By and large I find that Canada is much better than most countries. It just doesn't seem that long ago when it was even better. (And I'm only 28)

Go with Videotron

Bonjour Question girl

One thing, drop BELL and go for Videotron. Their internet access is several times faster (I'd say 2 to 3 folds) & safer. Their customer service is excellent.

Soon Montreal Island will have access to Videotron IP phone services. I live on the South shore and have all my telecoms are with Videotron (TV, Internet and now IP phone). I had the IP phone for 2 months now and I see no difference with BELL, well except that it cost me $20 less a month with more options (Voicemail, Call ID, Call waiting, Conference, Call forward) than with BELL.

I am so ready to drop bell. They can't even get the dial up correct.

The only problem I have is I need ADSL and videotron is only cable. (No cable connection in this place)

 If anything, it's DSL that might not be available at some places.. Are you sure you live in Montreal? I haven't heard that videotron is not available in Montreal areas.
check with Rogers, they are offering some cable TVs and high speed internet I think (mostly outside of Montreal).

well, some part of Montreal Island already have the Videotron IP phone services.. I called them yesterday and they checked my address and told me it is available. I am still debating if I want the landline or not. with Fido's $25 - unlimited incoming call I've been OK so far.

Videotron IP Phone

FYI,

Videotron announced that all regions they cover will have access to IP phone services before the end of 2005. I guess Montreal is brought online burroughs by buroughs.

As for Question girl I guess the building or house where she lives is not wired with Videotron, I guess she could ask for the autorisation. BTW, Orallover I'm pretty sure Question girl knows where she lives ! ;)

Last thing, Roger cable services is not present in this province,
Cogeco and Videotron are the dominant cable providers in most regions.

Just on the availablility of Videotron, it really depends on the building you are in and whether or not the cable was installed in the building when built. Also not all buildings who do not have it run in underground will or are able to have it run in after the fact without tremendous cost to the building itself, not all landloards will spend the money to help Videotron make money hee hee :) so you see it is possible she doesn't have access ;)

Your quite the story teller. Now unless you'd like to shed some light on your thesis and how you built it up in your mind, I'd suggest you keep further comments of this kind to yourself. Kinda childish.

Tut, tut, sticks and stones… Perhaps the author had you in mind, perhaps not. If he did, it seems to me that the best approach is to ignore the post. Commenting on it will only exacerbate matters and might well serve to confirm his thesis in the minds of other readers.

This being said, I can understand your reaction. However, I can also understand his attitude. Notwithstanding the fact that a lot of good, honest people work in the sex trade, this industry is, like most industries, by and large a cynical one predicated to a considerable extent less on meaningful human contact than on the commodification of sex and (ersatz) intimacy. Wherever there is commodification, the driving logic is business logic, and the primary objective is to generate income and profits. And, within this framework, whatever serves this end is justifiable.

Let me stress once again that I am by no means saying that all players in this business are sharks. Indeed, many are dolphins and mermaids. But every one of the latter, tere are no doubt ten or more of the former.
