I have often wondered about the average age and age distribution of men who visit SP's. Being somewhat older (rather than younger) myself I often wonder how many men of similar age are engaged in these activities. I'm sure that many younger men wonder about these things too. Would it be possible for the Moderator to set up a survey on this issue? Many thanks.

At the recent Celine dinner, I think most of the hobbyists that attended were in their 30s and 40s, and I would guess that the median age would be about 35-45, and I myself fall within those age parameters.
There were a few guys in their 50s and 2 guys who appeared younger than 35, but most appeared in their 30s and 40s. My guess is that if we took everyone's age and averaged it all out - and this is just a guess - the average age would be about 41 or 42.
Unfortunately this poll just gives us numbers in age brackets. We cannot determine a median or average age without knowing exact ages. I will leave to Eastender, the resident Board mathematician, the method or methods by which to resolve this issue.

30's here. I'm a bit older gen Xer, but still refuse to grow up.
Like our microwave dinner MTV generation, I foolishly expect women to come to me without me doing any work for it. Which is why I often end up seeing SPs.
It's like Ed Norton said in Fight Club, "I can't get married. I'm a 30 year old boy."
But it's all good. I guess I'd rather be single and seeing SPs/non-SPs, than mongomous, or even worse, divorced (and making alimony payments ).

This poll opens a lot of possibilities. Just off the top one might superimpose a chart of best earning years and one reflecting years of greatest virility. On first blush there seems to be some degree of correlation. Now that's not to knock us old guys with the fountain of youth gene.
I wonder if the sp's on the board could verify if this poll seems to correlate with their own experiences. Which group as a rule are they most comfortable with? How do they feel about the guys who fall into the extremes, the very young and the older guys.

39 feeling 20 - Most days
I turned 39 this year but I still play sports (hockey & baseball) 3 times a week in season. Throw in a round or two of golf, out drinking with friends two or three times a week, and hobbying how can I really be that old.
My friends and co-workers sometimes wonder how I am able to keep up the activity schedule I do, and thats when most of them do not know about the hobbying on top of the other things I do.
