Many years ago, i was told that many bored & sexually repressed wealthy women hung around the piano bar at the Ritz & whenever they saw a nice-looking young man who walked in to have a drink, they sometimes would get into a bidding game where the highest bidder among them would then walk over to the young gentleman & offer him the 'winning' amount if he would go & have sex with her.
I heard the same story from a few people back in the day (around 1999-2001), but i never confirmed the rumour myself. An sp told me that she had heard the same story, but the 'game' occurred at a different piano bar.
On another note, about 3 years ago, i met up with a group of friends at the Vogue bar. A middle-aged lady (around 40) had been sitting with a couple close to us. After the couple left, she came over & tried to pick one of us up. When she finally came up to chat with me, she mentionned to me that she had a room upstairs & was looking for company. I politely declined, told her i was already taken (yeah, i said that with a straight face! lol), and sent her over to another one of my friends there. She eventually left on her own. No idea if she was charging or not, but she did tell one of us that she was in town on business & was getting kind of lonely after being in town for a few days. Who knows......but when i told this story to an sp friend of mine, she told me that she possibly knew this woman & that it wasn't the first time she hung around that bar. Again, who knows......my friend also added that she had once been approached by a woman who had offered her to 'work' for her. All she had to do was go around the downtown bars seeking out middle-aged guys who seemed wealthy & looking for some company, and eventually make them an offer if they wanted her to accompany them to their room for some fun.....my friend never did accept the offer to go 'work' in the clubs, but admitted that it could have been interesting.
