Ah, yes, the good old days. I don't remember any meetings at the Cleo but I did attend a couple get-togethers at the Hotel de la Montagne (which was knocked down to clear the way for the Four Seasons Hotel on Montagne). They were pretty good but the setting of the lobby, though nice, wasn't big enough and private enough to make the atmosphere comfortable for both clients and escorts.

Eventually some guys decided to organize the get-togethers on a more formal basis. I was not opposed to the idea and I was able to attend two of the get-togethers that took place in a small, ground level function room of the old Lord Berri Hotel (which is now a Fairfield Inn, I think). The room had a small terrace in front of the hotel.

The more formal meeting format required invitations to be sent to members of MERB and some partnering with agencies and indies to get some girls to attend. It also required guys to chip in some cash at the door (I think it was about $30) to cover the costs of renting the function room and providing some light snacks. There was a cash bar. It was nice having a private space even though it was not really big enough to accommodate everyone who showed up. Quite a few girls did show up and I was able to talk with a few on both occasions that I attended. Before the organizers settled on the Lord Berri as a location, they tried a couple other locations that sounded good but for one reason or another, they could not be used again. Obviously booking a place for an escort-client get-together is not a easy thing to do.

This brings back fond memories from the good old days. I did not get to attend that many and have never been to the meetings at Cleo, but I remember a dinner gathering organized by the Devil at this restaurant (down from Chez Paree?). Most of the girls from the roster showed up. I made a hit list from the gathering, pardon me to-do list, and met again in private with most of them on my list in the next few months.

Besides I'm still sure there is intrigue to the men to attend a party surrounded by many of the hottest women in Montreal. And doesn't matter the tamer version of the party, I'm sure all the women would be dressed to impress anyways, with great personalities to keep a party happening. Put some music on, and girls like to have fun . I picture more the sexiest house party scenario. It doesn't have to be boring to be lawful.

We can work around C-36. Meeting in a bar or lounge in public is not a issue for coppers.

Why the hell would anyone want to take risk disturbing the hard-fought peace. Just go through the ads, read reviews, PM trusted members to get opinions, and if necessary ask her, or her agency, about services. At the end of the day, there is no substitute for seeing someone to see if you click.

Back then parties helped me so much establishing "a list". Nothing like meeting someone in person and most providers have blurry pics. Im a "face guy" personally way before body. There is many SPs i would had likely not taught of meeting if not for having seen them in person.

I do understand how @LC18 and @Shantie_mtl may not be at ease with the concept. In one night plenty of guys see you all at ones and all.

That said its always the same argument these days. Agencies are so busy they won't attend. Unsure about indies but Goodgirls and Mike Mansion back then organizing them (and therefore providing a great number of hosts) helped a lot as a draw for clients.

We even had pornstars show off like Vandal Vixen, Shana Lane, Anna Nikova and such. Part of what made them special. I think the only way this could work today is IF the clients would be willing to pay a hefty fee to cover the equivalent of 4h of work or more per SP and maybe have a guest or 2 invited like a popular OF girl or instagram model that would do pics with fans or such.

There's a bit of a cultural barrier to be crossed in order to get your head around this. People who monger here (or North America exclusively) tend to look at it as a lone wolf pastime, and generally refrain from lifting their heads up to be seen. If you travel abroad to monger then giant gatherings of SPs and clients is an every day occurrence, and this includes public gatherings in bars which cater to mongers and SPs. If you look around you you know all the guys there are mongers but it doesn't matter and those that aren't interacting simply ignore each other. Nobody goes around fingering others as mongers at a later date and it's just not an issue. It wouldn't be if you saw them later either. Likewise with the ladies. The lack of discretion that everyone fears normally simply doesn't come to pass. In fact , you usually just end up creating a second and separate group of friends, which can actually be quite nice. There is, however, a caveat. You are less likely to meet people from your own friend or professional circle abroad. While the risk is likely very low here it is possible to meet people like this from your own city. If you do meet someone like this then the reaction is likely to me "hey, fancy meeting you here, how about that?" , and now you have a friend that resides in both circles with whom you have a shared discreet interest. The risk comes if you happen to meet professional or personal enemies. Again the risk is very low and unlikely to happen, but lightning does occasionally strike, and then the results can be unpredictable. The most fun version of these parties are the ones where it is a social and maybe even networking gathering, where people aren't pushing each other (either by aggressive sales tactics or relentless horny slob tactics) and they're just there to relax. If something else happens then fine, but if you go there with the idea that you're investing your time strictly in order to meet nice, likeminded people and to enjoy yourself while possibly leaving alone then you'll probably enjoy yourself more and make great social contacts for the future.

If something else happens then fine, but if you go there with the idea that you're investing your time strictly in order to meet nice, likeminded people and to enjoy yourself while possibly leaving alone then you'll probably enjoy yourself more and make great social contacts for the future.

The vast majority of these parties in the past were all socials only. I recall 3 meetings in total that had "meetings" in them. First one was a bit of an oddity as it was in a penthouse private rental, second was at the bar of an hotel and there was possibility to bring the girl to rooms above, but the venue didn't liked it if i recall correctly and it was not possible after. Last of the 3 was in a private house and that party was THE one that felt like a college type of party (only with older men lol). Like litteraly what you saw in American Pie and such where peoples talk in stairs or line up to the bathroom, all of this was in. Open bar as well in the entrance fee (just needed to tip the barmaids). Still my favorite to this very day but unlikely to be ever reproduced. Im sorry i get nostalgic just rethinking about it.

I can make Merb a promise, if i win the lotto im renting a house like that and ill do one for sure ! Even if it mean paying the ladies for a whole shift lol.

I don't see the current group of agencies being interested in participating in a party like those in the past. There are fewer agencies now and they don't really need the parties as a promotional tool-they probably didn't even need them in the past. Agencies now focus their marketing on their websites, social media and advertising sites. Indy girls are a very diverse group and it's hard to say what their level of interest would be--a handful would be interested in attending but not that many.

There's also the question of how to publicize and provide information about a party. In the past, MERB was the means to do so. Only MERB owners can say what they would think about doing that again but my feeling is that they would rather not have to deal with the potential risks and problems of using MERB channels to organize a party.

In sum, the time for parties is past. It ain't gonna happen again.

Agree, the ideal venue would be a private residence. But a public place could also work and would be easier to arrange.

I don’t see why the agencies wouldn’t want to contribute, especially if the participants are compensated for their time. I’m sure the Indys would feel the same way.

I wish I had the time to organize it. Hopefully someone else does!

They went way back in time before 2013. It was the Iggy organized parties that started in 2013, and I attended the very first one which I think was January or February 2013. But there were both agency parties and MERB parties long before 2013.

The first MERB party I attended was Easter weekend 2005, and if your search skills are really superior, you will find a thread I wrote about that weekend, which I posted on March 28, 2005. That was the first official MERB party as well (MERB was born in 2003), but agency parties had occurred before that.

The first agency party I remember was Montreal Girfriends in 2003. They also threw a Halloween Party I went to in 2009. Celine's Fantasies threw multiple parties from around 2004-2006, and Eleganza threw a legendary party on September 15, 2007. There were other MERB parties in 2005, and 2007 that I attended. I attended several of Celine's parties. I also recall XO parties- I think I went to the first one but there were others. Overall, I am guessing between 2005 and 2017 I attended 12-15 parties.

I also booked smaller parties through Good Girls and Euphoria. Mini parties which were private parties with friends - 4 guys 4 girls. It fell on me to do everything on planning and negotiating these parties. The last one we did was October 2017. We did around 5 of those. The way they worked was 2 hours social time followed by 1 hour private time. Rates for the 3 hours were negotiated accordingly.

All of these parties were meet and greets. The agency parties were mostly held at restaurants; XO's was in a private condo, as was MG's. Jordd- you can always find something to celebrate, and that should be the attitude in staging any party. In the past, there were several agency Halloween parties. MG did one, and I believe XO did the other. Those parties were very different in how they were set up.

If I am unsure of connection with a provider, I would probably book a social rate hour or two for coffee, lunch, a museum or something fun to see if we click before booking an appointment. Be well worth the money especially if you like booking a multi-hour session. I personally wouldn't want to do the big meet and greet. People complain about screening requirements and discretion all the time and then you want to go to a convention of clients and SPs be like here I am??? Rather meet on my own. One of the best things about a hotel I stayed at in Montreal is the the lobby and elevator entrance was completely shielded from the front desk even though elevator required a keyboard. Was great!

As I mentioned earlier Montreal Girlfriends had Halloween parties in 2003 and 2009. I went to the one in 2009 dressed as Zorro. What was a little strange about that party was there were girls there who were working and girls there who were not working. Everyone was told upon entering the party that the girls who were working and available to see in one of two private rooms were wearing glowing bracelets. All the other non working girls were not wearing the bracelets. There was security at that party and at some of Iggy's MERB parties as well. In fact, if memory me serves correctly, Halloween Mike functioned as part of the security detail at one of the parties. His engagement proved valuable when he spotted someone who was lurking on the periphery of the party, who was not invited, and apparently had an agenda of some kind, that involved a person who was at the party. When you throw public parties you do need to be aware of the potential for shenanigans by interlopers, lurkers, and stalkers, all of whom may have different motivations.
