i have a stupid problem, i get viagra prescribed and my daughter has just become a pharmacist, therefore she has access to the dsq, and therefore my history of prescriptions. She is sworn to professional secrecy blah blah blah, but she can see it and that makes me uncomfortable.

When a phamacist enters a prescription in the DSQ, will they usually look back in the prescribed history? i'm guessing yes. And i have had my daughter fill my 'regular' non-viagra prescriptions, therefore she knows... oye vey

Very tough catch-22 situation.

On one hand you may get a discount on your bluepills. On the other it will make really weird feelings at the dinner table.

Maybe you should look forward to a very deep discussion alone with your daughter somewhere down the road.

She is a proffessional, She serves Viagra every day, She will not be shocked.

i wonder if when pharmacists enter any prescription, the see the history automatically, or they have to go digging for it. Looking up my own carnet de santé, its pretty simple and obvious to see my medication history.
But I wonder when pharmacists fill a prescription, what is the exact process? what do they see and how they see it? Do they look up the history in the DSQ, or are they looking in another type of 'local' software run by the pharmacy chain....and how are the 2 linked? I would ask my daughter, but that would raise suspicision

They're only supposed to look at what they need to look at.

Since they're looking sometimes for incompatibility between medications, she might very well look at it.

Probably better not to use your daughter as your pharmacist period.

If she is professional she WILL look at your history before filling ANY prescription for you to be sure there are not any counter-indications with any meds you are using at the given time.

Also being your daughter and wanting the best for her parents she will probably check out what you are now useing to see if there is not anything else she may suggest.

You could of course get your meds from another drugstore but better be ready when she asks "why dad, you don't trust me?"

i did get my viagra from another drugstore but it still appears in the DSQ. I would of had to specify at the moment of filling not to post to the DSQ (I have that right apparently)

In carnet de santé if you go into your profile, (top of the page) you can also access who has alwready accesed your information.

You will notice the list is long, In my case, all pharmacists at my Cosco have, every time I go the the hospital a nurse accesed it also.

I would be very supprised if your daugter doesn't alwready know, she is likely being a proffessional and kepping it to herself.

Go take a look & you will be sure.

I doubt it, (but go ahead & ask the pharmacist that fills it) the main reason it exists is for every proffessional to know what you have prescribed & what has been served. Avoids people shopping for prescriptions & getting them filled in various pharmacy's.

I hate to burst you bubble, but your daugter most likely saw it & figured out why you had it filled elsewhere

Many suppositions and interrogations bro but what is your real concern?

If it's really your daughter seeing your prescription for V, come on she's a professionnal, get over it.

But if you are still with her Mom and are worried they may talk about it and figure things out ... that's a whole different story you may have to step up to.

Again, I would consider a one on one discussion with my daughter first.

You have 2 separate problems here.

The first one is whether or not your daughter will look into your file randomly. I think you are safe here but you can check with the DSQ or your current pharmacist if there are safeguards against that.

The second one is whether or not your daughter will look into your file if she files a prescription for you. You must know that pharmacists are often busy pill counters but sometimes check what you take to monitor interactions. So she could see the viagra in that context.

My advice? Don’t use family members as health providers when you have a choice.

funny related note: costco keeps a history of things you buy (not pharma, general merchandise).

The wife in a semi-sexless couple saw that the husband was buying costco size batches of condoms.

Unpleasant :)

my guess is my daughter already knows, 90% sure. But still, from now on, I will not get my prescriptions filled by her when she is working, just in case she has not yet seen that history. And i will have to stop getting viagra from the other pharmacy until things clarify...
still really awkward...

I would go to another pharmacy chain and explain my case to the pharmacist. This is the only way you get an accurate answer.
