Visiting next week from the states and hoping to get large bills via a bank ATM. Are some banks known to have an option for larger bills? Thanks!

Many ATM's use the money people deposit, so if someone deposited 5o's & 100's you have a good chance. If 1 machine does not have it try another because there are usually 2 machines at the banks. if you use a different card besides the one of the bank you will be limited to your withdrawal, the max is $400 CAD$

To me it does not really make any difference. Cash is cash. 300$ will remain 300$ whether it is paid in three 100$ bills or 15 20$ bills. I never encountered a provider who commented on my choice of bills.

Scotiabank branches (the actual banks not the standalone ATMs) usually have at least one terminal where you can select your denominations up to 100s. But just make sure you use the good one, it’s usually the one on the left and it’ll have a sticker with the different denominations shown.

Yup. There's a Scotiabank branch on Sherbrooke (a few steps away from Sofitel) that has two ATMs side by side. Both let you choose 20, 50 or 100 denominations.
