I agree, this upsets me because yesterday the director of the laval police department, came out and said "there is only one person in this case to blame... this is Basil, he is the one who pulled the trigger".

This director, forgets or omitts to mention that it was HIS incompetance that lead to an illegal invasion of someones home that put HIS own soilder in harms way, eventually DEAD!

He should be terminated or better yet stand trial. Why did he not follow suit with his montreal police counterparts, they came out and said that in situations like these ones, they would of procceded differently. They would have followed the suspect leaving his home, then gone and arrest him, then would of gone back to the house, knock on the door and executed warrant.

In this case the police department acted above the law, and got a kick in the ass for it! Bravo Basil!!!!

Recently the SQ held a press conference stating home invasions are actually a rare occurrence. 95% of home invasions are the result of a settling of accounts, people falling in with the wrong crowd…etc. Yet the media reports them as home invasions.

I agree a man’s home is his castle and he should protect his family at all costs. But it does not give him or any other person on the wrong side of the law to use his family as a cover for his nefarious activities

In no uncertain terms do I condone the actions of the Laval police. They believe the laws do not apply to them.

Most Canadians with young children in the home do not have loaded guns at the ready

Basil was fully aware of the dangers of his line of “work”.

The Laval police conducted simultaneous raids that fateful morning without incident. All of his cohorts have pleaded guilty and already served their time.

If he would have conducted himself accordingly, perhaps he would not be penniless and living with his parents. He would have been in a position to fight another day!

He's out on parole after 5 months beginning July 13.
