We don’t have a shortage of sex workers because the money is good for the job and the investment.

I really admire this speech from you and Julia. You know better than anyone that sex work is buried under tons of hypocrisy and prejudice, the ultimate bastion of a phallocracy that delights in a narrow vision of reality that assures its power. This thread is an illustration of this. There’s only one way to change things, and that is by speaking out. Even if it also has its rewards, this work — always on the margins of a society that is still too puritanical — is not easy: the stigma is heavy and weighs especially on the less privileged among you. Who can talk about it best if not you, the sex workers? It’s courageous, lucid, intelligent and generous for your peers to do so. Personally, I appreciate it. And there are many of us here — a growing majority, I hope — who feel the same way, which is even better.
