“this was a "message poisoning" that was designed to teach Navalny a lesson”

“Message was intended for international intelligence communities, not the media or you”

“It's a statement with 2 meanings, one for those in the media, the other for the people in the intelligence”

“but the message Putin is putting out there is that if they really wanted him dead, they would have finished the job”

“the statement was intended to put out a message that they did not really use the full dosage and held back, as they wanted Navalny to suffer to his end.”

“Of course Russia botched the attempt at Navalny's life”

(“Putin has a very adorable chuckle, but I couldn’t understand what he said”). Lol.

I'm maybe not the sharpest pencil in the box, but I must admit I'm a little confused.

So I have a question:

Putin says — and I quote — "If [they] wanted to, they would've probably finished it".

If the attempt was "botched" (cause "they really wanted him dead”) how could it have initially been conceived as a designed "poisoning message", no matter who it was addressed to, Navalny, CIA, the media, Mi6, Donald, the Queen, the Gambit, you and me?

I also have another not-so-sharp pencil question:

How to establish the right dose for a "poisoning message" ( not a "full dosage”) with the solid form of the poison when the toxicology experts quoted by CNN say this:

"Short of injecting exactly the right dose into someone, it is almost impossible for the perpetrator to dose Novichok so as to incapacitate rather than kill". (My emphasis)

Yeah but that doesn't mean they didn't intend to deliver an incapacitating dose. The message poisoning still delivers a powerful dosage which fucks Navalny up and the purpose is to shut him up and teach him a lesson. Obviously, it did not work.

Remember with Litvinenko he was given a dosage of radioactive polonium-210. This poisoning slowly kills you (as it did litvinenko over 22 days) by shutting down your organs while you suffer the symptoms of radiation poisoning. It wasn't a lock that Litvinenko was going to die. If he was taken to that German hospital where Navalny went, maybe he wouldn't have died. Litvinenko was living in UK with his wife at the time and they spiked his tea in a sushi restaurant he liked to frequent. Litvinenko's mistake was in eating out.

Navalny's poison was slipped into his underpants and absorbed through his skin. I believe this is the same poison that North Korea used to poison Kim's brother through 2 Indonesian and Vietnamese female spies, one of whom was later caught. She told the court that she applied the poison as instructed, but didn't know it was a fatal poison. She was told it was a TV prank (like Candid Camera with Allen Funt) and paid $200 by the North Koreans. She was sort of an unwitting poison mule. To me $200 for a contract assassination that succeeded is a pretty good value as far as contract killings go.

Although I am no chemist, that poison is a nerve agent that works in ways very similar to the insect poison "Raid", which is effective as a poison on various insects including ants. It attacks the central nervous system and kills the insect usually within a minute on contact. As noted above it's hard to determine what is a fatal dose when used on humans and depends on the level and extent of the exposure. Kim was killed by having it splashed in his face. It seems that the Russian agents got it into Navalny's underwear somehow. It's not clear what the Germans did to treat Navalny, but it seems to have worked well.

You believe wrong. Both were chemical substances meant to kill, and the similarity ends there. Most of the rest of your post is factually wrong too.
