At least it'll be kind of interesting once again to watch the Bills. TO will keep the Bills in the news with his antics & i'm sure Buffalo will be able to improve on that 7-9 record with him in the lineup.
Lets' put it this way....Jauron couldn't be counted on to scream & wake up some of the underachievers. You won't have a problem with TO doing this if he feels the team is underperforming.
The bottom line: the signing caught be totally by surprise....but i like it!
I'm not surprised by this move but The o-line is still bad, Edwards wont have time to throw, after a couple of game T.O. will get sick of this shit and the team will be even worse if thats possible.... Hope i'm wrong but after last year and the fact that Jauron is still around, I dont have much hope for the Bills.... I'll get my popcorn ready....

Been a fan of the bills since the jim kelly days.
Getting TO cant hurt them any worse but we'll see how he copes considering
Buffalo is a run first team and TO has never been on a bad team before.

I totally agree. I've been a Bills fan since the Joe Fergueson/Frank Lewis days when Chuck Knox was coaching them. The Bills have nothing to lose by signing TO. As for them being bad, i don't think they were as bad as people think. They were pretty good in the first half & actually led their division at a certain point. Then they went on a losing streak & several wins were due to boneheaded decisions by the coaching staff. They easily could have been a .500 team if not for those boneheaded decisions. The final minutes of their last game against the Jets being one of them.

Yes, I understand completely. Those who like me started as Patriots fans when they drafted Jim Plunkett went through many, many seasons of pain despite a few glorious ones.
TO is a unique problem however. I don't think he can be sensible or happy. Where Randy Moss has been able to accept and stay with the Patriots Team Team Team concept so far, and be a benefit in every sense, TO is so self-absorbed with ME ME ME that even the equally ego-absorbed collector of big name stars Jerry Jones cut him loose. Sure TO will give you a big production on the field, especially if you change the name of the team from the Buffalo Bills to the Buffalo Owens. But I doubt that even that would satisfy him. His on field production is offset by the drain on morale. The real problem is his mouth runneth over with venom so often he was probably a cobra in another life. Just reading his biography he sounds like a unique athletic phenom with a compulsive self-destruction disorder that infects his teams.
Well enjoy your acquisition. I expect great on field achievements combined with tragic personal meltdowns and team disruption...eventually.

Owens' signing is all about marketing. When Ralph Wilson announced he had re-signed Dick Jauron, all hell broke loose in Bills Nation & many fans cancelled their season tickets, vowing never to return. Tickets sales were down & fans were abandonning the team. So, to bring back the fans & attract attention towards the team, they signed the controversial legendary wide receiver. Now, people are once again talking about the Bills, and i'll bet you that the NFL schedule maker is now under orders to book a couple of primetime games involving the Bills, which likely would not have happened if Owens wasn't signed.
There is also the question of the annual regular season game being held in Toronto. Last year, the game was a fiasco, and a lot of it had to do with the price of tickets & the fact the Bills were no longer in contention by the time the Toronto game arrived. Many fans vowed never to buy a ticket again. The game also had appeared to have been somewhat boycotted by the western NY fans who usually attended Bills games in Orchard Park. With TO having put the Bills back on the map, interest in the Bills has returned & hopefully the Toronto game will be a sell-out where most of its fans will now cheer for the Bills, which wasn't the case in last season's game.
The Bills had nothing to lose & everything to gain. Not only has the signing revived ticket sales & interest in the team, but the offense has finally began to upgrade itself. With TO, Lee Evans, James Hardy & Roscoe Parrish, the Bills receiving corps will finally be able to compete with the rest of the conference. Now it's time to either draft a top tight end or sign one.

T.O. drops too many passes. He ends up in a beef with every QB he plays with. I loved it when McNabb ignored Owens & kept walking away from him on the sidelines! I agree with Doc though, if T.O. helps sell alot more tickets, this will be a good signing for the Bills.

QB Trent Edwards was actually the one who pushed his GM to sign TO. When Owens got released by the Cowboys (whom i often refer to as the NY Yankees of the NFL), Edwards text-messaged his GM & asked him "what about TO?" Edwards was as surprised as anyone a few days later when he found out from the media that his GM had actually went along with the idea & had managed to sign him.

A TE is deffinately in the plans, thats why they dropped Royal
Daniels is still available, he caught 70 last year in Houston

As for worrying about him dropping balls in Buffalo's cold weather, i'm not worried at all. He can't be worse than James Hardy & he played just fine in Philly, whose weather is as cold as Buffalo's. Plus the fact the team will get a reprieve from the cold when they'll play a game in Toronto next winter.
I'm more worried about Trent Edwards' play in the cold weather. He hasn't shown anything to me yet in regards to that.
