The new owner said he believes it'll be the first hotel on Ste-Catherine street. I guess he doesn't know about the Hyatt Regency. Or some other small hotel run by Marriott just off Ste-Catherine that i just happened to stand next to the last time i was in Mtl.

Nevertheless there are 2 Hotels on Ste-Catherine;

Hotel Quartier des spectacles 17 Ste-Catherine West and
Hotel Ste-Catherine,1674 Ste-Catherine East and probably a few backpackers hotels too.
