Thirteen US service members and at least 60 Afghans have been killed in two bombing attacks outside Kabul's airport, according to the Pentagon and Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health.

They should have never been there in the first place. They wanted to hit and shut Daesh terrorist boot camp after 911, fair enough but why not just hit those camps constantly from the air(bomber, drones, missiles et.)? There was no need to send troops and try to force ideology down their throats. Russia(USSR) already had their ass kicked prior, why reapeting the same mistake?

You can't win a war just by aerial bombing. You need boots on the ground to control the territory. That is why the US couldn't just bomb Vietnam either.
