Look behind you.
Recently i got rid of my 2012 Civic, i hated it; noisy, lack of performance, high insurance premiums, crappy stereo.

I had a 05 civic and have to agree ( I had cheap insurance because it was a 4 door, no idea why a 2 door would cost $800 a year more to insure ). Very glad when my son totaled the car and we got a Subaru. The only good thing was that it was cheap on gas and minimal breakdown. I purchased a 2000 CRV new and my ex still has it, nothing breaks on that vehicle.

Reliability and easy maintenance. No way in Hell I am going to become a slave to my car like many. The things you own end up owning you.

I am looking for a car that I like the look, reliability, performance, road handling, and fuel consumption.

Total agree, my choices came down to a BMW X5 or a Toyota 4Runner Sport XRES. 4Runner won hands down and I've never looked back. Now on my 3rd identical vehicle. If I had my choice of vehicles, regardless of cost, it'd still be the same vehicle.

Exact Vehicle. They'll have to pry the keys out of my cold dead hand:

Hello PopeDover

Actually its kind of a funny circumstance the car sales rep was the cousin of a "judge" I knew and was my lawyer ,so it was kind of a facilitator to get the "Deal".

I really don't have any merrit other then knowing someone and being able to front the money !Lol:lol:;)

Cheers

Reliability ...check the service record and Accident record. A properly serviced car will provide many years of excellent service. Re condition of engine... check the spark plugs and exhaust.

Also check the odometer reading ...drive the car for a couple of miles and see that these miles are registered. Sometimes there is odometer tampering to mislead the buyer on the true mileage on the vehicle.

Yes Bookerl , I was thinking of used. There are some really great deals on used out there. You can knock off fifty percent of new car price and still get a great vehicle under three years old. Just beware of some of the common scams..

For personal use I always buy used as the savings are huge and you can get some with warranties left over, even buying a 1 year old lease back will save you thousands. I get new trucks for work but lease them as it is a complete write-off at tax time. With used buy from a dealer but if you buy private take it to a dealer of your choice and have it inspected, the small price is worth it.

STN it has to to with the 4 door center post support makes for strong frame in side collisions..

Makes sense, I was talking to a friend of mine about this and she had the same problem with her son's car and she was told it was because 2 door is considered a sports car, reason for the increase. Insurance companies have so many hidden costs they can tack on, lucky there is very cheap insurance here, in Alberta to add a 18 yr old to your car is about $2,000.00 a year and here my daughter very recently was $175.00.
