Can I contact Euphoria and XO without buying a Canadian SIM?

I'm a long time customer of these agencies but every time I come to town I have to spring for a new SIM since I use a very cheap telecom provider in the US that doesn't provide access to Canadian numbers, and I know the agencies won't respond to VOIP numbers.

But they also mainly interact with you over text, and I've always texted with them using my iPhone's messages app. That doesn't require a Canadian SIM. Can I just keep in touch with them through the messages app and avoid buying a Canadian SIM?

It looks like they don't use iPhones (and therefore I can't just use the messages app) so maybe I need to get a Canadian SIM?

... except that there aren't a lot of 7-Elevens in Quebec!

if you get a cheap smart phone with a cheap plan (tracfone for example 20$/month no plan) you can use Wifi... no cell reception in Quebec but if you got a hotel with wifi then no problem... you can even receive call with wifi calling.. trust me it works .. luxury called me to get Amy in the hotel lobby you can upload whatsapp or instagram on these cheap smart phones

lucky mobile and Koodo both have cheap pre-pay plans

If Tracphone has international service, this works. But if it's a US-only provider it might not. I think the agencies need a non-VOIP number.

Sorry but question was really asking from an provider/agency perspective. What's the problem with virtual numbers? A problematic monger can just get a new number with a $10 SIM.

I know AT&T prepaid works in Canada for sure. Now if your phone has eSim even better. You can keep your phone number and put the AT&T prepaid onto your eSim. Also with agencies seeing a US number gives them no reason to block you or anything.

Thanks -- that's $25/month at $300/year though ... If I visit at most 4 times a year, that's $75 for service every trip!

A simcard is good for 90 days at all prepaid providers. You only have to prepay for a month. Most sims are free . Some are 10 bucks. Minimum is $15 for 50 mins and a 100 texts. Problem solved.

Do you have names I should look for and where I should buy? Before the pandemic, liked PC mobile. I'd buy a SIM via eBay for $5 and top up for $15, charged by use.

After the pandemic, I needed to buy a PC mobile SIM at a maxi for $10 and then it was only service for a month for $20 or $25, and the card would expire within 30 days if there was no use and if I didn't renew the monthly cost.

oh yeah, what I mean is you have to have a number. VOIP or virtual numbers don't work. And since my US service provider doesn't work in Canada, I can't use that.
