Trump was banned because he tried to hold onto power even though he lost. He encouraged his supporters to fight back. That's inciting violence, which as we can see - violence happened.
He only got back on because his BFF bought twitter. He should still be banned just like if someone here were to incite violence.
LOL! I can’t stand either Trump or Elon. But the real reason Elon bought Twitter was because of the dangerous rhetoric coming from the left. They already have a monopoly on mainstream media and are heavily backed by the government.

Meanwhile, if someone on the left incites violence or even calls for someone to be assassinated, it’s brushed off and even normalized. But if anyone else expresses an opinion, suddenly it’s a national threat. That’s pretty hypocritical.

Who on the left has incited violence or has called for assassination?

Nope. Musk bought twitter because it's a useful tool for propaganda and the rich/powerful needed to be in control of it. He removed basically all moderation in order to cause chaos and have the peasantry bicker among themselves instead of worrying about what their leaders were doing. Remember the Arab Spring? Twitter was a useful tool to organize. Governments knew they needed to take control at that point. Fortunately for them, Musk agreed.

Have you not been on twitter recently? A quick scroll through it and you'll see every slur imaginable. I stopped reporting them since there's never any action taken, unless of course someone says the worst slur of all - Cisgender.

Isn’t free speech supposed to be without someone moderating lol.
You all have the freedom to not go on Twitter or any other media that doesn’t agree with you.

Most of you should have lived a couple of years behind the iron curtain perhaps then you would change your mind about what free speech is really all about.

The First Amendment protects your rights to freedom of speech, press, religion, assembly, and petition from government interference. It has nothing to do with getting banned from platforms like twitter. Twitter can ban you just for the hell of it if they want to. You have no legal rights to have a twitter account. Now if twitter were to remove your account because the Government told them to, that would be Government interference unless of course you were inciting violence or something. People laughing at Kirk or pointing out that he wasn't a good person is not inciting violence.

What Trump is currently doing goes against the 1st amendment. He said "Kimmel's next" after Colbert was cancelled. The FCC then threatened ABC/Disney to remove Kimmel or face consequences. Now Kimmel's getting cancelled (though it looks like Disney might be trying to backtrack that one after many people cancelled their subscriptions and called for boycotts).

Thank goodness we're not experiencing iron curtain levels of fascism. That doesn't mean we should continue to let things slide.

Exactly. Yet here we are being told “no “I’m right you’re wrong” hahahahhaahahhahahahahahah. Never ends. Can’t see how it’s hypocritical in itself.

Report me then. Cisgender isn’t a gender.

Lol. America is such a fucking joke. So what are all y'all doing to celebrate National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk on October 14th?
I never heard of Charlie Kirk before his murder.
I don’t celebrate anyone outside my family and the birthdays of the 2 ladies I see.

I do however enjoy seeing my favourite sports teams win. Much more enjoyable than politics lol.

Just because you can say something doesn’t mean you’re free from consequences. If you’re on your lunch break and someone next to you starts talking about planning an assassination, you’re not going to feel comfortable and you might call the cops on him. People can say whatever they want but then they act surprised when they’re called out or even apprehended for making threats.

I wish I could get into sports but it just doesn't do anything for me. Maybe I should just force myself to be a sports fan in order to distract from politics and the world burning down around us. Would be better for my mental health and it's still the same "my team vs yours", minus the risk of getting cancelled for saying someone's bad at their job.

The Democrats conducted a massive censorship campaign during Covid and got prominent scientists censored on or banned from social media.

Maybe you should get into sports and then perhaps you would learn to be more objective.
It is not just about my team vs yours and politics should not be just about Dems vs Republicans but what is best for the voter. it is about the sport and the athletes and their amazing talent and endurance and about team spirit and of course the fans.

How can you not appreciate someone like Messi, Pelé, Puskas, Mohamad Ali, Bolt, Tiger Woods, I could name hundreds of athletes from a multitude of sports from Rugby to waterpolo I have seen them all and can appreciate their genius and talent even if they were not on my favourite team or did not represent my country in the a Olympics or anywhere else.

Tyler Robinson a few hours after the shooting getting ice cream at a Dairy Queen.
Doesn't seem like the actions of someone that just assassinated someone and has the FBI hunting them.
Are you saying assassins do not like ice cream, or people on the run do not like ice cream? I do not think either is true. It's a food that a lot of people eat when stressed out. In fact, studies have shown that death row inmates often choose ice cream to go with their last meal.

Examples of Ice Cream in Last Meals:
  • Ronnie Lee Gardner:
In 2010, Gardner requested vanilla ice cream along with steak, lobster tail, apple pie, and soda.

  • Ricky McVey:
Before his 2001 execution, McVey requested two pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream.

  • Joe Arridy:
In 1939, Arridy, who was falsely convicted, requested ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on his last day.

Omg. I actually love knowing what serial killers or inmates on death row have as last meals. I’m subbed to various YouTube channels! Hahaha. This thread needed this.

ABC also made the right call with Kimmel, and not because they were threatened. On the subject of being threatened, no less a conservative than Teddy Cruz, Grandpa Munster himself, has criticized the FCC for threatening ABC:

“I hate what Jimmy Kimmel said. I am thrilled that he was fired,” Cruz said. “But let me tell you: If the government gets in the business of saying, ‘We don’t like what you, the media, have said. We’re going to ban you from the airwaves if you don’t say what we like,’ that will end up bad for conservatives.”

Though Carr’s comments have drawn widespread condemnation on the left, Cruz’s remarks represent one of the strongest denunciations of the threats against broadcasters by an elected conservative. Cruz also chairs the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, which has broad authority over the FCC.

This could potentially become a mass casualty event. At various locations. Not something I want or wish to happen but the probability and potential is there.
