Have you seen more than 5 minutes of it, unless FoxNews did show only what pleased their audience.

The protesters, especially Proud Boys are well known to carry their weapons everywhere. I believe there was no single firearm confiscated by police during these protests. The only case when a firearm was used is against an unarmed female protester by the trigger-happy police officer. This shows that people were not planning violence and indeed had in mind a peaceful protest. Yes, there were some provocative elements that made these protests disorderly that resulted in trespassing and some minimal damage to the government property. That is all. It is not how usually insurrection unfolds.

Compare it to recent protests in NYC and throughout the country when hundreds of shops were destroyed and robed and police was staying idle.

To the contrary - the rioters and insurrectionists were armed to the teeth. There were many guns and much ammo confiscated at the rally before the attack on the Capitol from those who went through the metal detectors. There were numerous police sightings of guns including assault weapons. Unfortunately, the police were overwhelmed and unable to to arrest everyone who was packing. Rioters were also armed with chemical spray, tazers, baseball bats, hockey sticks, crowbars, metal flagpoles, etc.

22 years for a few broken windows is ridiculous beyond belief. Fine or perhaps probation should be fair punishment. If this sentence is not overturned or at least drastically reduced on appeal(s), Trump will surely pardon this guy (and others) as soon as he returns to the White House in January 2025.

Of course that would be true if it was simple vandalism. It wasn't. It was seditious conspiracy and obstructing a congressional proceeding. Tarrio wasn't even at the Capitol on January 6th so he couldn't be charged with vandalism. He planned the attack and commanded the Proud Boys assault on democracy. 22 years isn't long enough.

'Zip Tie Guy' Eric Munchel was sentenced to 57 months on 5 felony charges - 2 of them weapons related. His mother, Lisa Eisenhart, was sentence to 2.5 years for conspiracy and obstructing an official proceeding.

The Oath Keepers leader has been condemned today to 18 years in prison.
He didn't himself entered in the Capitol but was directing his members.
To the judge, he expressed no remorses and kept saying that the 2020 election was stolen.
I still wonder why the two persons most responsible for the insurrection (Donald Trump and Rudy Giulianni) have not been yet indicted for the same crimes.

Shane Woods, 45, of Illinois has been sentenced to 54 months for assaulting a Capitol police officer and a journalist on January 6th, 2021. Woods, who was armed with a knife, told a friend that January 6th was "going to be biblical". Woods is also facing murder charges in Illinois for killing a 35 year old woman in a November, 2022 car cradh. Woods was intoxicated at more than twice the legal limit, speeding at over 100 mph, and driving the wrong way on the interstate highway. Trump really attracts "all the best people", doesn't he?
