Sen. Pat Toomey said Sunday that President Donald Trump should resign from office and could face "criminal liability" after the deadly insurrection at the US Capitol, becoming the second Republican senator to call for the President's resignation.

"I think at this point, with just a few days left, it's the best path forward, the best way to get this person in the rearview mirror for us that could happen immediately," the Pennsylvania Republican told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union." "I'm not optimistic it will. But I think that would be the best way forward."

Toomey joins a growing number of Republicans who want the President out of office before President-elect Joe Biden is sworn in as the next president on January 20. He is now the second Republican US senator to call for Trump's resignation.
On Friday, Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski told the Anchorage Daily News, "I want him out. He has caused enough
damage."

Another.

The domestic terrorists that infiltrated the Capitol Building were not all crazies caught in the heat of the moment - At least two of them came prepared with tactical gear & police-style zip tie restraints. They broke into the seat of Congress w/ the intent of taking hostages, maybe Pelosi, Clyburn or Pence

The total so far: 6 deaths, including two police officers, because of the Trump-inspired violent and treasonous attack of January 6.

Trump called himself "the law and order president". The vile Republican Party called itself the party of law and order. Rightwing nutjobs warned of violence if the Democrats won. Anything seem a little bit wrong about those claims?

For a change someone who knows what he is talking about.

The president didn’t mention violence on Wednesday, much less provoke or incite it. He said, “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”
District law defines a riot as “a public disturbance . . . which by tumultuous and violent conduct or the threat thereof creates grave danger of damage or injury to property or persons.” When Mr. Trump spoke, there was no “public disturbance,” only a rally. The “disturbance” came later at the Capitol by a small minority who entered the perimeter and broke the law. They should be prosecuted.
The president’s critics want him charged for inflaming the emotions of angry Americans. That alone does not satisfy the elements of any criminal offense, and therefore his speech is protected by the Constitution that members of Congress are sworn to support and defend.

First Trump was expelled from Twitter, now The PGA of America has decided to pull the 2022 PGA Championship- 1 of 4 Golf Major Championship Tournaments- off of Trump's New Jersey course. Trump's organization is claiming a breach of contract, but I suspect the PGA's attorneys vetted the issue and decided there is an exit provision based on the Capital Riots and incitement by Trump. The issue will be decided in the Courts:

Trump loves that course, frequently plays there and he can be expected to file suit very soon.

I believe that the Parler story belongs in the this thread. After the capitol riots a lot of conservatives/republicans on Twitter have been suspended or banned. Many of the suspended or banned started using the Parler app. Now the Parler app is having issues for being a conservative platform and is being shut down by big tech.

It may not be the only costly consequence from his crazy acts.

Trump owned Turnberry out of British Open rotation:
This is one of the more legendary British Open courses. I think "for the foreseeable future" means "until Trump dies."

There are also consequences for people that worked at the White House.
They have a hard time finding jobs in private corporations.
If it becomes the case for Kayleigh McEnamy, I would encourage her to come working for Montreal Escorts Agencies.
I am sure some of us would be happy to meet her !

I agree. It will be interesting to see what legal strategy they will pursue. Seems to be a blatant case of anti-trust violation. Not clear to me if the RICO statute applies as well, like Devin Nunes has suggested.

NY Bar Association may remove Giuliani:

As a member of the NY bar myself I am proudest of that one out of my 3 bar admissions because their bar exam- which had a 69% pass rate when I passed it- was one sonofabitch of an exam. I thought for sure I failed the fucker. One of the essay questions so befuddled me that after reading it 5 times I still could not understand it. It was like it was written in Chinese. Was a top 5 day in my life when I got the notice that I passed that bear......
