I post reviews for the benefits of those who review as well, unfortunately there is a bunch of selfish lurkers who only take and don't give back.

Something cool would be a VIP section on this forum for active members only. Don't know if it's something feasible

Active members are the ones who post. By definition. If you mean active in terms of those who see girls, then there's no way to know.

TER had (or has?) such a VIP model. The problem is that it encourages fake reviews.
Don't we have them here too? Don't we have "police" here?

Also, as senior members, we can also vouch/vote/decide who becomes a new VIP member who actually contribute for real and not just parasites who just ask questions without giving back

With all due respect, my friend, you've mentioned the terms "white knight" and "simp" a few times now. I understand what those words mean, but I’m genuinely not sure who or what you're referring to.
Here’s an example of your white knighting a thread
When a member of merb has a different viewpoint in a girl who you’ve “discovered”. You immediately challenge or contest their opinion.

Post in thread 'Ashley@ XXXclusive ( The New Spinner and Rising Star.)'
https://merb.cc/xenforo/threads/ash...w-spinner-and-rising-star.234861/post-1757533.

You take for granted other members opinion because they differ from yours

I have been thinking the same thing for a couple of years now, after some of the reviews I have read in the past years, I was thinking it would be MERB-G section, gentlemen only section. Its not only for reviews but more for the content of the review. If you state a girl is fat, ugly, smells and has a loose vagina, these are not how a gentleman should address or write in a review about. There are ways to get your point across without being crude about it.

I stopped disagreeing with MERB members long ago. I will chime in from time to time, if a post about someone I have seen, is similar to my positive experience.
I had a negative encounter with a legendary SP many years ago. All she had (and still does) are pages of positive encounters. I had to delete from the backlash and DM assault.

Creating separate sections for members wouldn’t solve the problem. Many members are here simply to gather information on service providers and there’s nothing wrong with that. They’re respectful, don’t cause trouble, and just want to find what suits their preferences. The real issue lies with the few who stir up drama, those with too much time on their hands or resentment toward others who are more active with providers. Splitting the forum won’t stop these same disruptive members from trying to squeeze themselves into any “VIP” area. So in the end, it becomes pointless. And let’s be honest: posting reviews is encouraged but not required. The core purpose of Merb is to share reliable information however you choose to contribute.

I don't think there is a perfect system, but each system can fix a problem. It's just like nobody can please everybody, just doesn't exist.

@Obvio-0bvio I disagree with your last post, doesn't mean you're wrong. But neither am I. Members who are simply here to take, I call them freeloaders and parasites and yes, they bother me, that's why I sometimes I only share in private to others who share. Those that have a different opinion from me don't bother, everyone is different, I don't take it personally. Posting reviews is encouraged but not required? True, but how does that reflect in the real world... ask the 2 other boards that died.

Those that try to squeeze in the vip section, can be squeezed out by vip members, and again, I don't expect everyone to be friends among the VIPs, but they will all be active contributors.

I completely respect your opinion, and I agree that what you’re saying makes sense. That said, it’s important to acknowledge that there are definitely freeloaders, people who come here just to take information without giving anything back. Personally, that doesn’t bother me. I don’t expect anything in return. My reviews are often written with exactly those types of freelancers in mind.At least they come, get what they need, and leave quietly without causing trouble.

In fact, I think those members, especially the newer ones, often don’t know their way around the industry yet. If reading a few reviews or posts helps them make smarter decisions and avoid bad experiences, I see value in that. I genuinely feel for those who save up their hard-earned money, only to end up with a terrible experience and then have to start over scraping together funds for another service that might take them months to afford.
What’s even more frustrating is when clients don’t know about forums like MERB and rely on platforms like Leolist, often getting poor service for their money. Some of them don’t even know what GFE is, or that there are reputable agencies offering better service for less. These reviews help guide them toward quality experiences.

That’s why I believe it’s not fair to have a separate section for contributors, leaving the non contributors on the sidelines . I would support a small access fee for that section without leaving the non contributors entirely on the sidelines. I have nothing against freelancers; in fact, MERB exists to serve exactly those who are still figuring this industry.

I appreciate your perspective, and I do agree with you in many ways. At the end of the day, sharing helpful information costs nothing and it can make a huge difference for someone just starting in this hobby.

I believe you meant freeloaders.
Your autocorrect probably picked up our conversation from your last post

I know you wouldn’t purposefully stir up anything about freelancers since I specifically called myself one, especially after you offered an olive branch.

Well you do as you want of course but if you permit me an advice, don't mind the haters. Build a shell, get thick skin.

I may have talked about that before but i was bullied as a kid...til i realize i had the means to not be.

Nowadays i let none disrespect me freely. Of course in real world the law is the "limit" and i behave by it. On Merb its the rules. I stay in their limits.

But my point is i hold my ground and i don't fold for anyone. Don't let anyone bully you if they don't like a review (me included lol).

I accept constructive criticism but pure bullying...ill tell them to p1$$ off if you know what i mean ;)

I’ve been taking a break from MERB not from the hobby, but from the forum itself, mainly because of how some members have treated me. I’ve faced false accusations, belittlement, and attempts to bully me. And honestly, it’s disheartening. This kind of behavior ruins it for others members who actually like my reviews and my taste.

Since my last reviews, I’ve seen at least 7–8 service provider, at least 2 were true hidden gems. Yet not a single review has been written about them. That says something. It seems like some members prefer to keep these providers to themselves instead of sharing with the community. But that’s not who I am. I believe in sharing, because that’s what MERB is supposed to be about: helping each other with sharing information on service providers , just like other members helped me when I first joined in 2006.
I’m not here for a popularity contest. I’m here to give back, the same way others guided me when I was new. I write reviews to share my honest experiences and help fellow members get the best value for their hard earned money.

Some members take issue with how I write my reviews. But let’s be clear: I’m paying for the experience, and I’m taking the time to write about it. Sure, I may not have perfect grammar, and maybe I like to use some grammar applications to polish my review but what matters the most is that my reviews are 100% honest and authentic. I don’t sugarcoat. I don’t write fake praise in exchange for anything. I just tell it how it is. The best part about writing reviews is when members who reach out thank me, especially those who’ve had similar experiences with the same providers after reading my reviews. That’s what makes it all worth it and that’s what MERB should be about.

It’s really sad when members try to shut others down or push them away simply because they don’t like that someone else is sharing so many information or because they envy someone’s frequency of with service providers encounters. Maybe they feel better tearing others down from behind a screen for their own personal gain. But this isn’t the community I first joined in 2006.Remember: members who take the time to write reviews aren’t doing it for personal gain. They do it because they care about the community and the hobby. This kind of negativity discourages honest members from contributing. And when that happens, we all lose.

So I want to ask ; have any of you experienced this kind of hate? Did it make you stop writing reviews? What can we do as a community to stop this toxic behavior and make MERB a better place again?Let’s work together and not against each other’s.
Yes then i fought it out!

Well said. And I’m sorry you had to deal with bullying as a kid, no one deserves that. But seeing that same behavior on a forum like this is pathetic. Hiding behind a screen to bully others is cowardly. These people talk big online, but face to face, they wouldn’t say a word.

Let’s be real, these are the types who never show up in person at any merb get together because the tough guy act only works from behind a keyboard. They’ve created some fake persona here to feel powerful, and they need that role to boost their ego.

Honestly, it’s sad. If someone needs to put others down on a forum just to feel good about themselves, that’s a clear sign they’ve got their own issues to deal with. This place should be about community and respect not keyboard warriors playing make believe.
