If you really want to get technical watch out for Toyota Corolla drivers you will notice they are the WORST drivers out there!

It's an odd phenomenon.

Given the fact that the new ones have plastic dented bumpers I guess that drive by touch. They don't hear the crunch like the old style solid steel cars.

I never signal if the car behind me is far (say 15 meters).

If you find this distance to be short notice, then you are not alert enough and should stay out of the road for the security of others.

If you people don't know how to drive in Montreal or find us bad: you either haven't travelled enough, come from a small town/village, a German or too old (not alert) to drive.

Kind of a stupid response ( You and like you may be the reason for this thread ). Signaling lets the person know you are about to hit the brakes. Safety first. Do you even think about that a person may be thinking of entering the road ahead of you and does not because you are too close? Then you turn but now traffic from the other side is too close... No probably not. PS I have travelled many more miles than most people and in many more places. And thank you............ You helped prove my point :)

Why would i hit the brakes if i'm only changing lanes?

I really don't understand the rest of your rambling.

Its pretty simple:

-a hard stop and a turn, needs a signal, the same when being too close to another car when changing lanes (<15m).

-a change of lanes in a flowing traffic with no one being close, makes the signal useless. The same as being on a mandatory turn waiting at a light.

You have driven many miles? Good for you, that doesn't prove you're good at it... Look at the taxis. Lol

I always use my turn signals...except when speeding on the highway while I'm texting with my left hand...have to keep the right hand on the wheel!

I have driven in all over Europe, the Caribbean and North America. Nothing exceptional about Quebec. I do find that certain parts are more prone to speeding in 50km zones than others. <

Nothing out of the ordinary. Stupid drivers everywhere and if you keep your eyes on the road and not on your phone, you will be fine. The idiot that drives and texts illegally in nyc is no different from the idiot in montreal or quebec that does the same thing. what upsets me is when the person ahead of me is 1st in line at a traffic light and when the light turns green they sit and continue texting. I beep and beep and beep and have gotten plenty of middle fingers thrown at me. guess i'm not one of the entitled ones with my own rules..... keep looking at the motor vehicle laws to get a waiver like them, but can find the way to do it. guess i'll have to continue to annoy them and not let them finish their critical & life changing message that requires me and the people behind me to wait.

Personally I find the lack of signalling, running of red lights and stop signs and not sure of what to call it but road arrogance excessive in Quebec. Probably was a bad question to ask since the people answering are the same people who drive here, kind of like asking a patient of a mental institute if all is well. Not saying the fine people of MERB are mental patients but using as a reference. Anyways I just drive more on the defense and all is well.
