The majority of the texts were requesting BBFS and asking for discounts. Or offering discounts for positive reviews. Told these folks I have herpes simplex 1 to 5, mutant gonorrhea, a new STD where you will grow Trump Mantits and still they want BBFS.
Yeah like the people getting contacted by bot or scammers, they deserved replies like this hahaha

One of my first meeting, the booking went smoothly with a booking date around 2 weeks in the future. I restrain myself from sending any communication for 2 weeks. On the nigh in question, I drove to the general area expecting to receive the address an hour or so before the said meeting. At one hour mark I sent a message to let her know I was ready. I did not received any response. Felt like I'm being ghosted, I told myself that's part of the game and went back home. A few days later, in the middle of the night, I got a message and after a few exchanges I was told than I'm not serious because I didn't write back sooner.

Bottom line, I learn to set expectation about confirmation and now, I wait to received my confirmation acknowledge before going to a meeting.

Always confirm the day before or the morning of, but that's my job! I wouldn't expect my clients to write to me to confirm (though I invite them to do it if I haven't emailed them in a timely manner and they're worried.) Just like my dental clinic doesn't expect me to call them to confirm my appointment, they are the one who call and send the reminders.

Go both ways. 24 to 48 hours before we meet up I email to confirm with her. Then on day off she calls my hotel and/or my cell phone to confirm. She is very busy I am sure not going to waste her time and if for some reason she can’t make it I go Plan B or C. In some cases Plan B or C is not even seeing another SP but some other activity like finding some HIIT or yoga class on ClassPass.

Yup as a service provider you need to make sure your appointment is confirmed until at least 24h before.
But client has a part in the communication. As you mentioned, if the SP didn't send a reminder, the client should double check again. Especially to avoid disappointment or misunderstanding.

That's right, that's what happens, the dental clinic does not expect the customer to call them to confirm, they are the one to followup w/ the customer.

and sorta to the prior poster's experience.. once i was trying to set something up in another city. the lead time was about 4 weeks. i reached out to the lady to go over hotels suitable to her. once decided i said something like great, I'll get back to you...

this was someone we'd seen each other in about 12 months earlier.

i got back to her in about 6 days. (again, lead time to the eventual meeting was about 3 weeks at that point)

No reply back... if my timing to get back was an issue with her, why didnt she follow up to me.

Mind you, about 6 months before that conclusion, she took a deposit from me for a appt. we settled on a place that she'd visit me at, then on the day of, she cancelled saying she didnt like the particular hotel... saying it was up to her discretion despite not a first time customer.

She pocketed my deposit btw... with not future discussion of what happened to it/ roll over credit.

just seemed to be too high strung of a provider.
