You're conducting interviews for an executive public relations position. One female candidate has included in her employment history that she worked for five years out of a respected escort agency.

What special skill set (besides the obvious;) ) will this women bring to the position?

The problem with this, once you get outside of hobbyland and the hobbyists world there is no escort agency that is going to be seen as respectable in the real world. So putting this in her resume is going to be one giant negative.

Yeah, this is obvious of course, but we are talking about a hypothetical situation here.

The main point of the question is: during five years as an escort, what skills does individual acquire? Or, other than the financial benefits, is it a complete waste of time?

Definitely "people skills".

Having dealt with all kinds of men in much more delicate, and possibly dangerous, situations you have to realize that she can think on her feet ...or back ... sorry, just had to throw that in there :D

But woking/surviving that long in what can be a very emotionally trying line of work is a sure sign that the woman had, or learned, alot of instinct when it comes to '"reading" people.

definitively agree with reading people, listening and relating to them and charming them ... which is the basis of many business/political deals/sales. Well having the skills is one thing ... you still have to have the ambition and the smarts to use them appropriately within a business context but still its a big head start.

Now what about the scars left to some girl's soul after an escorting "life"? I say some girls, because everyone is different and will get out of the biz with different levels of "effets secondaires".

A few come to mind: Lack of trust (in others and in themselves), delusion about real relationships, some level of disgust in the male gender, inability (or difficulty) to drop the act in a potential love relationship, inability (or difficulty) to open themselves to others, etc.......

Sorry to bring some negatives to this discussion.

CA

PS: Yeah yeah, I know. Most of these side effects would probably go unnoticed to someone hiring an ex-escort for another kind of job (except maybe "more bitchy toward men"? )

GREAT people skills.

Some people just DONT know how to talk to other people, or have to patients to do so.

Escorts have great patients, and they are very good at concealing negative thoughts and emotions. I think they make good diplomats as well (after training of course).

A woman who is attractive and skilled at manipulating men's emotions would have the potential to be a valuable asset when trying to win a large contract or sway the judgement of a government official.

If, say, you were competing to sell a nuclear reactor to Uzbekistan and you were in a tight race with a French company, how far would you go in using the special talents of such a women when, say, trying to sway to Uzbeki government official to select your product?

Then what if it was a gay Uzbeki official? How far would you go then?:D
All the way as well, except this time I would delegate the task between relevant parties. :D

Ziggy, metterais tu tes "parties" sur la ligne de front? (j'ai pas pu me retenir... :) )

Yes, true! But what if the other side's negociator or worse (or better!!) governement official recognizes the SP as he may be an old client of hers??

Parfois, pour mieux se frayer un chemin... il peut etre utile d'avoir fraye dans le milieu! ;)
