Etiquette when dealing with an Agency

The issue at hand arises from your dealings with a disreputable agency. I'm fairly certain that the agency you mentioned does not advertise here. I believe I have an idea of which agency you are referring to, as they are notorious for these types of situations. I recommend opting for an agency that advertises on MERB, as most of them are reliable and trustworthy . Even in the unlikely event that they cannot fulfill a booking, they will either inform you in advance or not take the booking from the outset.

I have no idea why else they wouldn't even respond to texts or calls or messages on the website when i've been communicating that nobody showed up and checking to make sure they sent her to the correct address.

But i got no communication back. Not an excuse. Not a message letting me know they had to cancel. Nothing.

I'm at a loss for words. I would suggest sending the agency in question a private message on this forum to inquire about the reasons for the absence and why you weren't informed. I'm sure there must be a valid explanation for it. By reaching out via PM, you'll likely gain a clearer understanding of the situation.

Fair lol. I'll do that. I wanted to check to see if this is something that's just kind of a norm in the industry here. The agency has a solid rep and like I genuinely don't know why I didn't even hear anything. I deadass think the guy on the phone must have thought i'm someone else.

I’m quite certain that it’s something along those lines. Typically, agencies on this forum are very trustworthy.

Yeah I have had generally good experiences with the agencies on here. It was my first time booking with this agency, and I just don't know what happened.

When I was in my early twenties and new to this industry, I had my fair share of troubling experiences. I encountered deceptive bait-and-switch tactics and fell victim to scams from various agencies. They would send a driver along with a service provider to my door; the driver would collect the payment, and then the service provider would often neglect to deliver any actual service. Instead, she would spend time on her phone and, after 30 minutes, announce that she was leaving and time was up.This happened to me a few times, leading me to assume that all agencies were the same.

One day , while searching for tips to avoid being scammed by agencies, I stumbled upon the Merb forum. Once I registered, my entire experience with service providers changed for the better. Each encounter I had was seamless, and all the new agencies I dealt with were highly professional and trustworthy, they were all advertising on Merb. I believe this was around 2005, and I fondly recall how I received top-notch service from exceptional providers. The difference was remarkable.

Back then, the most disreputable agencies advertised in the Yellow Pages, and they were, without a doubt, the worst. They would set appointments and then fail to show up, scamming people right at the door. Even more concerning, it seemed there was often just one person operating multiple fraudulent agencies, scamming everyone they could. If you're unfamiliar with this industry, you might end up with a poor experience and be scammed multiple times. That's why I feel sympathy for newcomers who find themselves using platforms like Leolist or dealing with dubious agency websites.

If an agency you mentioned is advertising here, there’s a good reason they don’t show up. In all my time dealing with agencies advertised on Merb, I’ve never encountered a single problem.

What do we do if we booked with an agency and the girl never arrived and the booking agent hasn't responded?

I'd called previously, and during that call, the agent said nobody was available tonight and I was like "no worries" and we were both like "have a good night". The dude called my number back after that call ended right after and started speaking in french and called me another person's name, and I told him I think he has me confused with someone else since that wasn't my name and only other time i'd called at that point was like a month before.

I called again on a later day to check who's available, and there was an availability with someone i like so i booked and gave my address. But nobody showed up. I tried calling again, and messaging on the website.

What are the odds this booker thinks i'm someone else and is mad at that person?

IMO there isn't anything you could do about it, that's one of the issues with agencies. You kinda is at the mercy of the booker's good faith. Considering time is money, I dont think they would willing here your plea of explanation trying to clear your name if there's a misunderstanding. You're only 1 client in their big pool. They dont mind.

Something not similar but close enough regarding me being mislead by a booker happend to me. There's one of the woman I wanna see badly, but got b8ted once by the booker telling me she was available, squedual a meet and all, and it was an other woman. Booker was telling me like "but this one is nice aswell" blablabla. Was really pissed. Now, because I didn’t go through with the woman who I didnt ask for ( not her fault) and left blue balled, how can I be sure that booker wont do that to me every time? He knows my number now, cant use IP phones number. Im pretty much cooked. My only hope would be for that SP to go indy.

These are the hurdles of agencies my guy.
