Can we compare her collapse to that of Tiger woods.
Lack of concentration caused by too many distractions.

I disagree. As jalimon mentioned, she was never a ranked top 10 player for very long. Sure, she went far in several grand slam tournaments. But she was lucky into getting good draws due to many top seed upsets in those tournaments. My guess is that she was possibly playing way over her head at the time and other players didn't know anything about her game. Once they started studying her game more, she lost her edge. Also the fact she never progressed and many may say she disgressed.

Blaming it on off-court distractions is scapegoating. Most top-ranked players face the same distractions if not more.

I'd add that she may have peaked way too fast for her own good. It allowed her to get too comfortable and it hurt her game and potential.

Well, she finally won a match yesterday. She barely beat the 601st-ranked player in the world in a crappy tournament in Florida where she's favored to win as the tournament's top-seeded player. She'll now face the 305th-ranked player. I saw a picture of the court where the tournament was held and it looks like a back-alley court. I thought "man, she went from Wimbledon and Flushing Medows to this??" It's not even sad anymore.

Eugénie a joué un de ces meilleurs matchs pour défaire pour la première fois Maria Sharapova (pas à son meilleure).
Peut être que ce sera un tournant dans sa carrière...,

After the cheating comment Bouchard made on charapova she really needed that win!

Perhaps a good turning point indeed.

Cheers,

Yeah, i felt it was the wrong thing to say. Sharapova isn't perfect and came clean with her mistake, a mistake that wouldn't have been one had that particular medication not been banned less than a month earlier. She paid dearly for her mistake by being suspended for a year. She lot millions of $$ and at her age i doubt she'll ever be as good as she ever was considering the layoff from the game.

Sure, Bouchard won. But Sharapova is still extremely rusty due to being away from the game for over a year. Let's see Bouchard repeat the feat the next time they'll meet and i'll give her full credit then.

I'm glad she made the comment about Sharapova. She is right, a cheater should not be welcomed back into the sport ! Let's not forget that Sharapova is Russian first and the biggest cheaters in sports when it comes to doping are.....................The Russians ! The fact that she beat Sharapova, so happy for her and this might just be the motivation Genie needed to get her career back on tract. She has that fire in her belly back and who knows now what the rest of this season might hold for her, Go Genie Go !

What proof do you have that Bouchard and others are not 'cheaters' also??

p.s. The best 'cheaters' usually don't get caught.

Eugénie a gagné contre Kerber. Elle menait 5-0 au deuxième set puis Kerber abandonna.
Elle est sur une très bonne lancée, a complètement dominé la numéro un mondiale (en l'absence de Serena)

If Genie keeps this up she may get her cameo appearance on the Big Bang Theory.

Maybe maybe.... On en compte combien des stars reconnus partout dans le monde qui viennent du quebec? En plus elle est jolie comme tout ;)

That was a huge win by Bouchard, over the player ranked #1 as recently as September of last year. Kerber may have been hurt, but Bouchard will take the win. She has had some pretty good results so far.
