I am sure the journalist who did this story is reading the board today and probably enjoy reading us. Kinda like throwing a rock in a fishpound and all the fishes start to panic and move all over the place.

While this will not kill the oldest profession in the world, it certainly will lead to changes and adaptation and these are rarely for the best.

I know they will never show the other side and all the good this business does for both providers and clients. For that tough we can be grateful to the Sonia Von Sacher of this world and such.

I am more curious and worried about where these girls will be going instead of these journalists and their motives. I really like some of them but regret so much I did ask their number when I had a chance.

I read the article on the Radio Canada site, watched the episode of "Enquete" (using VPN to connect from the USA) and read most of the comments in this thread. I also followed the story in La Presse of the shutdown of XO (thread about it is here).

The girl who goes by the name "Clementine" is the obvious link between the two stories. She seems to be on a one-woman mission to shut down the sex business in Montreal. Which agency will be her next target? Every hack reporter of crime and vice news in Montreal must have her number on speed dial, hoping that she favors them with some inside info about the business and so helps them boost their careers as crack "investigative journalists."

Part of my comment on the La Presse article about the shutdown of XO is worth repeating:

"...Of course, it is possible that this is the beginning of the end for escort agencies in Montreal...As I and others have noted, the laws to put an end to agencies have been on the books for years and it's just a question of enforcing them. However, to paraphrase Mark Twain, I think the reports of the demise of agencies have been greatly exaggerated. Based on what we know so far, this is an isolated case of one agency becoming very complacent and fucking up... XO alienated the tenants of the residential buildings that it used as it places of business. I have always been surprised that the main incall agencies got away with this practice for such a long time. Since I am a visitor to Montreal and I always use my hotel room as a rendezvous site, I have never used an agency that mainly does incalls. I understand the advantages of incalls but I never liked the idea of sneaking around in residential areas and buildings. It's kind of amazing that the incall business model didn't cause a big problem sooner than now...The sensational accusations of the purported "survivors" are not proof of anything yet. As I have clearly stated before, I do not subscribe to the "believe all women" school of thought."

Maybe the most interesting part of the current Euphoria story is the news about the well-known eye surgeon acting as a "recruiter" for Euphoria. Though he seems like a weird guy with some unusual fantasies who got way too close to the agency and its owners, it's not clear how he was recruiting girls for Euphoria. I guess he was trying out girls from other agencies and suggesting to them that they should switch to Euphoria. That's not exactly a crime, but we'll see if any charges are filed against him. Of course, in the USA he could get charged and convicted of "sex trafficking" and sent to prison for 20 years. Canada has not yet experienced a moral panic about "sex trafficking" in the same manner as the US but it could happen-stay tuned.

Like the police said to the journalist, they going by priority. If the girls are threaten or in danger they intervene if not they don’t. Now because of FK weirdo and dumbs that don’t take NO as a answer, the respectful guys gonna have to pay for this… gg

The main reporter for the article and the video is this guy:

Interestingly, he is French from France. Like many immigrants from France, he must have fled his home country to get away from France's high taxes and the socialist policies that have been strangling France's economy for many years. He is now helping to end Quebec's tolerant attitude towards the sex business in the same fashion that the French have mostly (but not completely) stamped out the sex business in France. However, I doubt that he has any principles. He pursued this story as an easy means to generate clicks and help his career.

Etk....get yourself an Indy and move on....The escorte agency game starting to have too Much eyes on...

The problems here is with the Jordan Ruling. (Supreme court 2016) Since the passing of this law, we saw drugs traffickers and some others criminals being release beacuse of the time limits for being tried was not respected. You can safely guess that the minister of justice and criminal court judges won't board that train. Criminal Courts are under incredible pressure already to respect the Jordan Ruling and the jails are overfull. They won't willingly add to that because of this report. They will make a big show of it and keep sticking to minors girls, human trafficking and violence againts women. Like they should.

Honestly I don't get why this is turning into a ''agency vs indy'' debate because it just shouldn't. Everyone deserves good working conditions, whether they work for an agency, independently or at a MP. Also the industry as a whole has issues, and I understand why people single out agencies because they are extremely popular and they truly set the standard in Montreal, from what I've realized.
Would you agree that the current system garantees better safety conditions for independant escorte and their client vs escorte in agencies and their client? I dont have the data, but from the stand point of someone who juste wanna have Casual sexe, dealing with an independent SP seems more reassuring because if feels like the escorte wants to ne There. ( That's is if the SP doesnt have a pimp). Agencies would work and have less horror stories IMO if the structures around sexe work were more clearly established and accept.

But like I Said, we are in a society with big judaism-christian values. Dont expect a state journal like CBC making an video article on sexe work having grown ass women saying they love sexe and the life style even if it's true for 70% of them..

I watch Enquete from time to time...and they are mostly biased Bull S#it.....come on "GFE cest GOlf one Experience":rolleyes::rolleyes:. The girl who is helping them...so making up shit.....if she was really raped...where is the police case. Cops will tell you...if you are even a prostitute and you say no and get raped, there is a case and its a crime. Me thinks she aint a prostitue at all...just an actress. Remember she is talking so openly and did not ask to cover her case...a real informant in such a so called bad business would hide her face...but not her....some more BS. They just pick a target and make up stuff....this is Enquete for you. ITs all to make things sensational. Agency has nothing to fear.....escorting is legal in qC. Hope Euphoria come back...great agency and lovely ladies
