Fantastic films festival

okay pretty much everyone who comes to montreal goes to the Jazz fest and just for laughs but I'm wondering, do any of you go to the Fantasia fest

It's an amazing event full of movies you might never hear of if you are not in the scene. I've gone pretty much every year since it opened and I always find one or two real gems in there.

Most movies are foreign with subtitles although you do also have some really low budged american, canadian, french and british films somtimes.

I just came back from buying my tickets, I have 21 films to see this year.

Anyone else going? might be fun to hook up there and chat while waiting for the staff to let us in. I'll post my list of movies if anyone is interested.

I believe they do once in a while but not hardcore stuff. The main attraction to this festival is cult films, kung fu, animation, horror, and things that are over the top.

I remeber one year they played the anabelle chong story (before it came out on video) I believe she was there to introduce her movie too.

Another year they had a movie centered on bdsm.

you never really know what you're going to get at this festival, thats the fun part.

Fantasia's a terrific festival... I saw Toxic Avenger IV a couple years back at it. And I'm looking to get one of mine screened in 2006... Hope, hope. They treat the fans and filmmakers so much better than Sundance.
