I just finished season 7 of Black Mirror and it was one of the better seasons of this show for sure.

The best episodes were "Common People", "Eulogy" with (Paul Giammatti) and "USS Callister: Into Infinity", which is a sequel to Season 4's "USS Callister". Charlie Brooker, the show's creator and primary writer, wrote or co-wrote all of these episodes and is a certifiable genius in my opinion. Most of the season grapples with the possible applications and impacts of AI on our lives, but the show goes much, much deeper than the superficial anpplications and impacts we are now seeing.

I have been hooked in the last of us since 2013 first game came out on the PS3, after enjoying the uncharted game again by Naughty dog. They have a way to really make you feel and care for the protagonist.

This is the second episode of the last of us 2 season 2 and I have to say that so far compared to season 1, they are making it better than the game, I love the direction the show is taking its not 100% following the game but they made it so fight.

Excited to see what the rest of the series as i store so far gotta love those bloaters hahah.

Also Mobland excellent with Tom Hardy.

I just found out that Altered Carbon has a second season on Netflix. I absolutely loved the first one and binged it. I hope the second season is just as good if not better. Would like recommendations on similar shows.

Yesterday i watched the third episode titled ‘Hotel Reverie’ and found it absolutely brilliant! It’s by far one of my favorite episodes of the anthology. I will likely re-watch it again soon! By the way one of my favorite episodes of the series is ‘Loch Henry’. It was the second episode in season 6 & i still consider it among my favorites.

"Hotel Reverie" was indeed very good. I thought all 6 season 7 episodes were pretty good. Many critics have viewed "Hotel Reverie" as a "reimagining" of the classic season 3 episode "San Junipero." There are similarities between the 2 episodes, although they have entirely different plots. I have no doubt that Netflix wants to keep Black Mirror going as long as Charlie Brooker keeps churning out such imaginative stories.

A lot of excellent shows, for those that haven't watched yet. Probably my 2nd best source after HBO Max.

I'd recommend Severance, Silo, Shrinking, For All Mankind, Ted Lasso. Apple TV has been really good with their Sci-Fi and Comedy shows.

Currently going through Bad Monkey, and that's been pretty entertaining/funny.

I started watching this new medical drama series on MAX & it’s absolutely fantastic! It stars Noah Willie who used to play Dr. John Carter on one of my favorite tv shows ever ER & each episode is one hour in the medical team’s shift at a Pittsburgh hospital’s ER. There are 15 episodes & it was such a hit with viewers that it just got renewed for a second season. I used to think that ER was the best ever medical drama ever made & now I’ve discovered the GOAT! I’m hooked!

I recommend that you binge into the series in order to remember better some of the characters (such as patients they treat) and i’d recommend having a box of kleenex nearby since there’s a high risk for tears.

I had to wait each week for a new episode and it drove me crazy. The new watchers are fortunate they can binge it.

Some of those episodes count as legitimate cardio. My heart rate was probably > 100 bpm during a few of them. What a show.

I know the feeling about having to wait a week before being able to watch a new episode of a series & i absolutely hate it. A big reason is that i’m not getting any younger & by the time a new episode comes out i’ve often forgotten half of the previous episode! So what i’ve been doing over the past couple of years is that i try to wait until a season is either over or nearly over before i start to watch it. I do this with my favorite series like Survivor, Amazing Race, The Traitors, etc. Another thing that frustrates me is having to wait like a year or two before a new season comes out. And by then I’ve forgotten most of the previous season so what i often do now is rewatch the previous season (or movie) before i start watching the new season or movie sequel. That’s what i did for ‘Severance’. Also what i hate is when a new season of a series of a series i really liked comes out i’ve since lost internet. Examples that come to mind are ‘Only Murders in the Building’, ‘The Bear’ and ‘Silo’. As for movies i really enjoyed i had to rewatch ‘Den of Thieves’ & ‘Top Gun’ before the sequels came out. I also plan to rewatch the last ‘Mission Impossible’ movie before the mext one comes out soon.

Decided to give some of the Walking dead spin-offs a try.

The Ones Who Live - Follows Rick and Michonne. In typical WD fashion, they take twice as long to tell the story than they should. Half the show is just Rick and Michonne arguing about what they should do. Something happens early in the series that feels unnecessary and done just for shock value. Giving it a 1/5.

Dead City - Follows Negan and Maggie. Hard to buy Negan and Maggie working together, given their history. The actor playing "the Croat" is doing a horrible attempt at a Croatian accent. It gets a 1.2/5. It's part way through season 2, but I think I'm done with it.

Daryl Dixon - I was expecting this to be the worst one, but was pleasantly surprised. Daryl finds himself in France, alone. It's a nice change of pace. Guns aren't as plentiful as they are in America and the scenery is prettier - The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and Mont Saint-Michel are all featured. They introduce a few new zombie types, including fast zombies. It's getting a 3.5/5. I'll be back for season 3.

Fear the Walking Dead - This one is 8 seasons. Going to take some time to get through. I like that it starts from just before the outbreak. It focuses on a smaller group of survivors, which could be good or bad depending on how you feel about the characters/cast. Definitely feels more low budget but also more old-school, like it could fit into the Romero-verse. That's possibly due to Colman Domingo, the actor playing Strand. He would've fit right into the 70/80's zombie movies. For now it's getting a 3/5. I'm only on season 2. It'll probably turn into garbage by season 3 or 4.

I feel the same way. I started watching the one with Maggy/Neegan and i struggled watching that first season. The one with Rick/Michonne i watched about 4 episodes & put it on hold. The one i was the most skeptical about was the one with Darryl Dixon & it turns out i absolutely loved it!

As for FWD i watched it from day 1. However they lost me after season 5 or 6. I loved it for the first few seasons but eventually i lost interest. Same thing with the last couple of seasons of TWD. At one time it was my favorite tv series. But after Neegan became a good guy (in my book anyways) the series kind of suffered. Way too many characters. And let’s face it: the Rick Grimes character carried the series & when he disappeared i kind of lost interest although i did manage to watch the entire series. But for me it was no longer must-watch tv.

Once in a while i still rewatch some of my favorite episodes from the first seasons…all of season 1…and the seasons involving the Governor. I think the episode i watched the most often was when he attacked the prison. Powerful tv drama! I also really enjoyed the Terminus one when Carol went all John Rambo & freed the Grimes Gang. Their time fighting for Alexandria also had great moments. When Rick went Bruce Lee & fought dozens & dozens of walkers all by himself after Carl got shot was a classic!
