One that you forgot which is more recent than most is TAKEN. An excellent sci-fi mini-series which spanned 5 decades in 10 episodes.

Another excellent one was Noble House, starring Pierce Brosnan before he became James Bond. An excellent series not to be overlooked.

As good as they were though, I still would have voted for Shogun.

I've yet to finish watching the entire "Ken Burns' Civil War" documentary series.

One that i really liked that i'd like to add to the list is "Ken Burns' BASEBALL", which was absolutely brilliant.

Every time I see the title Pride and Prejudice I think it is about someone who is proud to be a bigot. Well I used to, now I just think zombies.

Shogun and Band of Bros is the only show of the above I watched and liked but I can't watch them again. I tried watching shogun recently but soon started skipping ahead to the pissing scene and gave up.
