Fido cell phone network is down

Having a problem with my cell phone, I called Fido customer service. They told me their whole network is currently down, and is not expected to be back up until 4 or 5pm. The symptom is that after dialing the line doesn't ring, and you just sit there, waiting. No noise, no nothing...

So if you're trying to reach friends, SPs , or agencies using Fido cell phones, tough luck!

But the real question is - how did you get a human on the line at FIDO customer service in the middle of the afternoon? nice work if you can get it.

I called their 888 number from my landline, and waited about 10 minutes.

I used to love how my Fido phone would work like a charm in Bangladesh, Egypt, or Swaziland, but there was no service available in Cornwall, Kingston etc.... I used to pay them thousands for business phones and they'd cut off my service if one nickel was one week overdue... Bunch of morons running that company and now they have been acquired by an even bigger bunch of morons -- Rogers.

I am so happy to never have to do business with them ever again.

Rogers was also down today (at roughly 2:45pm not sure of the exact time). Both my Fido phone and my Rogers phone didn't work for about 30-45 minutes today during that time. Speaking with some people around me, they had the exact same problem.

OMG, Thank god ! I was freaking out when my phone won't work (My friends' phones were fine)! I DONT KNOW the customer service number, I wanted to call. I use Rogers.

I Had The Same Problem With My Phone But In About 3o Mins It Was Up And Runnning.wouldnt It Be Crazy If The Network Went Down For A Few Hours It Would Be Like Total Pandamonium In The City

These things do go down! They have quite a good protection system but shit happens!

Most places, now that they're both owned by Big Teddy Rogers, Fido and Rogers use the same network/towers. Before, Fido used some of Rogers network/towers but had it's own at other locations.
