Up next is Tether and the stablecoins. These are pegged to the US dollar. If these crypto things also go under this is going to be another huge black eye. The FTX fiasco is nothing compared to this one.

Crypto is nothing but a scam. The amount of money being invested into this is astonishing and probably the only reason it hasn't completely crashed already.
Simply put, Greed is the only thing keeping this scam going.

Who would have thought plugging a machine into a wall socket makes you money. I have a tree out back in garden doing same thing ....

Another casualty from this FTX collapse.

BlockFi is declaring bankruptcy because of its exposure to FTX.

Kevin O’Leary EXPOSED During FTX Scandal

Nov 14th 2022

The story of Sam Bankman Fried & FTX is far from over and it has become wilder and wilder the more I dig. But I find it fascinating that top investors like Kevin O’Leary were caught off guard by this fraud ‘SBF’. He might even be smart but he knows very little when it comes to crypto in comparison to the other geniuses in the space like Ethereum creator, Vitalik Buterin.

I have a friend who works at Morgan Stanley and he told me he had steered his clients away from FTX and compared them to Theranos, nothing but a massive Ponzi type scheme. It's amazing that shit like this continues to happen. FTX even had Tom Brady and Steph Curry as pitchmen. Curry's commercials were memorable as he appeared as a Mime.
If your friend at MS is in wealth management he maybe indirectly involved in Crypto and probably doesn’t even know it. As he maybe doing something called Securities Based Lending. This is using stocks as collateral for lines of credit where clients can draw money from. It is big business as money can’t be made thru margin because of dismal interest rates. Clients can borrow money from their stocks and use that to go into crypto.

He told me he likes the blockchain technology that makes crypto possible but doesn't believe in the crypto.

The fact that SBF was considered the "adult in the room" in crypto circles is hilarious and kinda terrifying.

Just goes to show that there are a lot of clowns, swindlers and scam artists in the crypto space.

Hell, a former porn chick with no substantive financial experience was the head of institutional trading for Celsius, the now bankrupt crypto lending company....LOL.

You know something is wrong when the Canadian SP industry is better run and honest than anything Crypto.

What is the big difference between Indy Companions and FTX? With Indy Companions you want to be screwed. Lol.

All the respectable Montreal agencies and indies should come together and create its own Crypto. The GFE Coin and the PSE Coin. Hehehehehe

You mean you don’t get turned on in the presence of a Wood Nymph?

These folks bit more than they can chew and now they are paying for it. Now if they pulled this off they will be considered heroes. Since they didn’t they are going to have to take all that is going to be thrown at them in all angles. I mean even regulated assets have their own episodes of frauds and scams. Crypto which is unregulated is surely going to have its funny money moments.

He was shilling FTX for some time, I wouldn't be surprised if he got paid to do so

I personally have no sympathy for FTX investors, they chose willingly to give their hard-earned cash to an obvious fake

All jokes and snipes aside. Take this from personal experience. If you own any crypto please put it in cold storage. If you don’t know what that is means that put it in your personal hard drive or digital wallet. Keep them the hell away from these crypto brokerages and exchanges.

Yes I own some bitcoin. I didn’t buy them. I was mining them way back before they were a dollar without half rates today with a rinky dinky i3 desktop. I also fell into the scam that is Mt. Gox lol.

From what he told me it was basically a Ponzi scheme. It should be noted that SBF did manage to snooker some major venture capitalists who should know better. In that regard he has a lot in common with Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos. If you guys have not seen "Dropout" on Hulu, I recommend. It explains in detail how Holmes pulled off a very similar scam. Her scam involved faking the technology on blood drop tests, and how she pulled it off is an interesting watch. It is a dramatization, but mostly historically accurate. Amanda Seyfried (who is incredible as Holmes) was awarded an Emmy for her performance in Dropout, which I would say was a career defining performance. Brilliant. What's most impressive about her performance is how she seems absolutely convinced that her own lies are true.

Elizabeth Holmes was just sentenced to 11 years in federal prison! This is outstanding news. White collar fraudsters and scammers should take note. The US government is no longer fucking around with this kind of stuff.

Holmes is one twisted manipulative narcissistic psychopath. Knowing that what is coming for her, she goes ahead and gets pregnant with two kids using them as human shields to gain some sort of sympathy.

Those crazy eyes. Beware of those who just stares at you and do not blink at all.

If you have not watched the Hulu series "Dropout" starring Amanda Seyfried as Holmes, I highly recommend it. Seyfried delivers a mesmerizing performance which won her an Emmy Award. Watching Seyfried as Holmes, and I am sure her portrayal had many kernels of truth, you are blown away by how completely she believes her own lies. The core lie in the whole story is the complete unworkability of the technology she is using to produce accurate blood tests. However, she believes in the workability of the technology with every fiber of her being. This is despite repeatedly being told by tech people outside her company, and her own engineers, about the various problems with it. Her solution is to just keep working harder while staging assorted frauds in the process, like passing off the testing machines as Theranos' own.

Ultimately there will probably be a TV series and movie about FTX 7-8 years from now when the smoke finally clears on the smoldering ruins of this debacle, which at this time still haven't flamed out completely.
