Very nice!
Oui gros but, mais c'est, malgré tout, un joueur que je vois sur le cruise control et manque de chien, comme Drouin, Hoffman, Dandonov. J'aimerais me tromper.
Monahan va peut-être m'obliger à ravaler mes paroles! Il joue de très grosses minutes et est très créatif. Je vais le garder à l'oeil celui-là.

While you may be excited by the win a friend of mine who is a Habs fan is extremely upset by the win as he wants losses, not wins, so that the Habs have the best possible chance to draft Conor Bedard. Instead, the Habs by winning are allowing the Coyotes, who were tamed last night, to strengthen their hold on the best shot at getting Bedard.

The Bedard sweepstakes is looming over the bottom 6 teams of the league and will be all year.

Don't worry, they are young. Other teams will find ways to mute them for most of the season.

I think this Habs team will surprise a lot of people this season. The forwards are pretty decent & many have said that the team's defence would be its weak spot. However once Edmundson & Mathison return this defence will actually look very good. The problem so far hasn't been the defence or the younger players but the veterans. Guys like Hoffman, Drouin, Dvorak & Anderson have under performed. Sean Monahan has surprised a lot of people & Gallagher has been playing very well. Hopefully last night's injury won't cause him to miss any games since his biggest quality on the team these days is his leadership. Jake Allen had an off game last night but i consider him to be a very good quality goaltender. But his durability remains an issue.

The habs will likely miss the playoffs again this season & probably for the next 2-3 years since other teams in their conference will continue to improve (e.g. Ottawa Senators, etc). I predict the habs will finish outside the top 20 teams in the league and will likely draft around 8th to 10th overall. Unless they continue trading & picking up draft picks which they could trade in order to improve their draft position later on.

Well i did warn everybody prior to the last draft that this year’s crop was a poor one & because of the lost junior season due to covid the middle round picks may end up having better careers than the top picks. The lost year really affected their development & also greatly hurt scouting.

So no surprise on my part that both Wright & Slafkovsky have struggled badly so far. But it’s still way too early to give up on any of them. Some of the past superstars either came out of nowhere or took a few years to reach their potential. The draft more often than not is a crap shoot.

I’ve also repeated often that the habs picked the wrong year to finish last & end up picking first. The next draft is THE year to finish in the basement. There are many gems that will be available in next July’s draft. Connor Bedard appears to be a generational player but there are several others who may be franchise players & future stars among the top 10 ranked picks of the 2023 draft.

The habs should end up with a great pick (even better than Wright or Slafkovski) if they can pick in the top 6. Worst-case scenario for them would be to miss the playoffs but only end up picking outside the top 8.

If the Habs pick #6 that is right about where Matthew Wood of UConn is projected to go:

I dont see Slaf struggling that bad so far, yes he can be a bit lost at times but the kid is able to catch up, we can see it every additional game he plays. He wont be a Crosby but he still will be a very good asset in a few years.

Exactly my thoughts at the end of last season, he's a 40 goal guy for sure.
Do you think Cole Caulfield will achieve the status of best American born player to play for the Habs, taking that status away from Max Pacioretty? Max never had 40 goals for the Habs. 39 was his best season.
