Hi DalilaD...nice to hear from a woman.....Pacioretti is indeed a good player BUT this year he is having the worst year of his carreer,,,,and yes he would have needed more Italian passion...lol. Far from being Rocket Richard.....should not play for the Habs next year.

I am a woman but I love sport, especially the GIRO (Italian bike tour). I don't know much about hockey but I know Pacioretti is not a real Italian guy. I find hockey player sexier without helmets like this one :
One of my client (not on this forum) is feeling very sad because La Sainte Flanelle is not making the playoffs this year. I told him I understand and feel his pain because Italy is not qualify this year for the FIFA World Cup. I told him to think positively about good french Canadian players of Canada's national sport. He told me there was very few in Montréal right now. He gave me his favorite French Candians starting lineup of all time.

Quelle autre soirée gênante 4-0 contre les Leafs.....Lindgren 20 buts en 4 matchs et il a été notre meilleur ce soir...c'est tout dire!!!!! Oui Monsieur Molson y a de la grosse besogne devant vous....et savez-vous au moins par quel bout commencer????:decision:
La saison du Canadien est mathématiquement terminée, bien qu' émotivement elle l'est pour moi depuis le mois de Janvier.
Les propos de Molson étaient sensés être rassurants mais son aveuglément face à ses propres limites en ne voulant pas engager un Président aux Opérations Hockey, n'annonce rien de bon.

I don't recall ever seeing a Leafs/Habs game where the Leafs dominated the Habs so much!
Were it not for Lindgren's heroics the score could easily have been 10-0 for the Leafs!
I was quite surprised at how much they dominated the Habs considering they were without Auston Matthews, Leo Komarov and Frederik Andersen.
The Habs have offensive talent but they can't seem to be able to put it together....no chemistry. The likes of Pacioretty, Galchenyuk & Drouin are much better than they've shown this season. Drouin should be at the wing instead of center. But it's no excuse for his lack of effort for half the games this season. Maybe he is a 'pomme pourrite' like Tampa alluded a couple of seasons ago.
But the real 'pomme pourrite' this season?? Carey Price!!!
As a Leafs fan i'm overjoyed that Geoff Molson has given Marc Bergevin his vote of approval and will keep him as his GM. I'm also very happy Geoff Molson will remain as the team's president. I'm even more happy that Carey Price will be with the team for years & years to come!!! :love:

Je ne serai jamais un fan des Leafs, même s'ils se rendent un jour en final contre n'importe qui de l'ouest, j'encouragerai n'importe qui.
Mais je dois avouer que pour les partisans de Toronto, qu'il s'agisse de Hockey, Basket, Soccer, Football c'est une belle période. Un peu comme pour Boston.
Les Blue Jays sont dans un creux de vague, mais c'est quand même du MLB dans ta ville.

D'accord que Montréal en a que pour ses Habs et que c'est décevant quand ils ne font pas les playoffs....le monde s'écroule... MAIS comme je suis un vrai hockey fan je vais quand même aimer regarder les équipes se battre en séries..et encourager celles que j'aime.....comme le Lightning ou les Preds. Il y a tellement de talent dans cette ligue qu'on devrait avoir de bonnes séries...et peut-être des surprises.
J'aime aussi regarder les séries, j'aime le hockey des séries et surtout au début, deux matchs intenses par soir!

Once the first round is over quite often the following rounds will put you to sleep and since winter is almost over people would rather be outside than stay indoors to watch hockey on tv. Having the rivalries and the best teams play one another in the later rounds would keep more people inside to watch hockey.

The reason the first round is so good compared to later rounds, imho, is that that's when all teams are generally less tired than they will be in later rounds. The players also play with more intensity because they are excited to be in the playoffs and not as banged up by the grind from multiple rounds.
Nah. No offence but i don't buy this argument for a minute.
It's a very long season. Too long, actually. The rivalries face one another in the first couple of rounds. Often the best teams are knocked out early because of the current format which doesn't reward the best teams & actually rewards the crappier teams. Fans love to watch the rivalries. But once round two ends the rivalries are usually 'no more', so fans start taking time off from hockey and start spending their evenings outdoors or watching baseball or the NBA playoffs.
The current NHL playoff format kills fan interest by the time the third round starts unless one of your favorite teams is involved.
If you remember back to the days in which the playoff match ups in the opening round were 1vs16, 2vs15 etc, the first round was also often the most intense despite the fact that teams were much less likely to be facing their main rival(s). The quality from the first round mostly comes from the initial intensity and adrenaline, which naturally wanes after round one and until the finals.
I don't remember it that way. I remember the Habs often facing the lowly Detroit Red Wings or the Leafs facing the Ron Stackhouse-led Pittsburgh Penguins back in those days. BORING!!!! I later remember great playoffs involving the Leafs and Norris division rivals like the Blackhawks, Blues and Red Wings which were the most exciting playoffs in recent memory. I remember in the mid-90's when the Leafs came a goal away from meeting the Habs in the Stanley Cup finals.
But today's playoffs lose my interest after round 2 unless the Leafs or Habs are still playing (i always bet big money in the playoffs when the Habs play which keeps me interested) and then i switch my interest to the Raptors' playoff run and the Blue Jays season. For me during the hockey playoffs i'd rather spend my May and June evenings outside in front of a barbecue or relaxing on my patio deck drinking beer while listening to some great tunes on Sirius XM. I'm a die-hard hockey fan but by May and June i've pretty much tuned out since the season is way too long already and i can't wait for it to end.
