I do not remember Scott Stevens' hit on Kariya, but I do remember his hit on Eric Lindros. Lindros was blamed by the announcers in that game for his own injuries for skating up the ice with his head down, which may have been a valid criticism of his style of play as I do not think it was the only time he got concussed. I think one of those announcers was the ex LA Kings coach Barry Melrose.

I do not remember Scott Stevens' hit on Kariya,
How you can't remember this? It was one of the scariest moment in NHL with direct hit at the head of Kariya in the center of the ice!

Look behind you.
I am impressed with the Habs, great job in the off season.... My Oilers still suck. In my pool I have Draisaitl and F.Anderson, I can make more points if Anderson gets a shutout than Draisaitl getting 2 goals and an assist, Go Leafs.

Scott Stevens was one badass of a hitter.... Kariya and Lindros probably still flashbacks ... of course in today’s NHL he would get into a lot of trouble but I liked him as a player

the Habs look like they are for real with the way they are winning convincingly at times ... if they can avoid injuries and stay covid free they could maybe surprise a lot of people this year .... of course it’s early in the season but they look well balanced... unfortunately with the new realignment there will be no way to pit the top division teams against each other so as to get a better feel and measure of how strong they really are .... such a thing won’t happen until the later rounds of the playoffs ....

I agree that the habs have had a shockingly fantastic start to this young season. And there's no reason to think it won't last if they manage to stay healthy throughout this season and avoid any type of epedemic around the organization. It seems that only the Leafs can stop them. Their upcoming games should be a dandy!

After watching the standings this morning in the NHL----with Habs on top de leur division---IMHO Habs would b very competitive in ANY division ;) ....the toughest one being the EAST with BOSTON--PHILA---WASH......in the WEST with ST-LOUIS and COLORADO..
et finalement in the CENTRAL with T.BAY....so ce qui est certain--indéniable c'est que les HABS seraient parmi les TOPS in any division.....my 2 cents.:)

I agree that the habs would be among the division leaders in whichever division. They are playing good hockey. They were a hard-working team in the past but had problems putting the puck in the net. The difference this season is that their best players have improved & playing their potential and that's why the habs are now scoring & winning games. Goaltending has been solid throughout the season. I always knew you couldn't expect a Claude Julien-coached team to play lousy hockey forever!

3-2 SENS...too little too late.....petit rappel à l'ordre...on laisse de côté les stats. et on se concentre au jeu.....c'est sur la glace que ca se passe......on remet ca Samedi et on revient à l'effort collectif --au jeu d'ensemble plus intensité.

After watching the habs lose to the Sens the other night i've concluded that maybe EB is correct and that the habs may be benefiting from playing in a weak NHL division and that things would be different if they regularly played against the likes of Boston & Philly. I've watched the past two games between the Bruins & the Flyers and these two teams are for real! Very exciting hockey! As for the habs and the Leafs have something in common: they have both lost against lowly Ottawa this season.

They're back playing one another today at 1pm and Jake Allen will start for the habs, which is why i'm predicting a win for the habs who have got better goaltending this season (so far) with Jake Allen than with Carey Price, who's yet to find his form. Unfortunately for Tyler Toffoli he's not playing against his former team (Vancouver) and will likely be held scoreless again today. As for the Canucks they're once again facing the mighty Maple Leafs who easily defeated them last Thursday.
